Rear ended a damn pickup today, and destroyed my front end completely
wreck.webp
. I know it was a 2.3, but I had plans for it, and now I guess I'll junk it.:(

I wish it would buff out, but the entire front sub frame is crushed, strut tower braces are wrinkled, engine/transmission got pushed back to the point that my shifter handle wont even go in to 2nd, or 4th. The rad support smashed the front of the engine and I believe sheered the engine/trans mounts. The driver's fender even got pushed back to the point that it cracked the windshield. I think it is probably beyond repair, for the value of a 1991 four cylinder. I'm gonna try to scrap as much as I can off of it, and start looking for a 5.0 again. I only picked this car up in the first place, cuz I got it for $500.

Yeah, that is too bad man. Depending on what they give you for it, maybe try and buy it back and part it out (interior etc) to make some more money from it to get another project.

Interior was crystal blue, kinda rare, but in pretty bad shape. The hatch already had rust and the defrost lines were separating, doors were already dinged, and had mud in them, and the drivers fender got pushed back into the door causing more damage. The tow lot wanted $250, just to give it back to me, and I really don't have the room to strip her down, so I just signed the title over to them and junked it.:( I live in a townhouse community, and I don't think that they would appreciate me having a wrecked car in a spot being stripped down. Total loss. Oh yeah, sense they only valued it at $600, I went with liability insurance only, so not getting any money back from them either.

Yeah, it really sucks, but at least I didn't get hurt, or the people in the truck that I hit. I found a '83 t-top 5.0 on craigslist that is only about 45 min. away from me, so I'm gonna go take a look at it tomorrow afternoon. It sounds like an abandoned project, so given how much it needs, I might pick it up and finish the project.

Boostfrk-I'm not out of the game, I'm looking for another fox right now, but I should be able to collaborate with you still on chikin's thread. My best friend still has the 1990 GT that we are just getting ready to tear down and start restoring. I am helping him out with about everything, so I will work with ya when I do his quarter-glass. I'm gonna check out this '83 tomorrow, and if I end up pickin it up, it's deff getting the 87-93 quarters. I just hate the 79-86 quarters!
