The New Guy - 84 Gt

Hey guys,

I'm Alex and I'm new to the whole forum thing and the whole gearhead thing...

I've been wanting a project car for a while and finally I was able to get some $ saved up to get this guy.

The engine is in good shape so I want to do some work to the aesthetics before I go any further. Any tips on where I can get original parts?

Also need some new front seats... any recommendations? Racing seats would be nice...

Thanks guys look forward to being a member and learning and sharing w u guys! (And ladies I guess)

Best,

AC
Honestly, if it's running, and you like it. We'll help you with your mustang. You'll have lots of fun working on it and we have lots of talented mechanics in here that'll help you out.

Poor bastsrd... He's probably not coming back after this on slot of car bashery. "Hey I just got a new ride!" The judge and jury reply, "You got screwed, that thing sucks!"

It gets worse, he has a Fram. Now y'all can really get em

@Saecusco , if these two guys are correct and you feel picked on, I apologize for us.

We can be smartas*es, but we're not really meaning to be hurtful.

I hope they're wrong and we didn't run you off.

It doesn't appear to be laid out bad at all. It just needs some finishes.

I might start scouring junkyards etc. for the accessory section and brackets. When that Mazier water pump dies, you'll probably want the usual compliment of items for street driving it.

Hey, now. Don't lump me in with him. I was just correcting some spelling. :)

I don't think anyone has bashed the guy at all. Everyone has just pointed the hodgepodge of parts and asked for more pictures.

Heck, I'm not jumping on you or anyone else. I honestly feel guilty like I may have sounded kind of mean or belittling.

It's because I'm so sensitive:cry:.

Really though, I'm not bothered when someone points out I may have gone a little overboard. I need some slapping around periodically, at least that's what my wife tells me........:jester:.

Lol thanks for all the help guys! No hard feelings, if it's a piece of :poo:, it is what it is and I just have more work to do... I appreciate the honesty.

I'll upload some more pics when I can!

Where's the next logical place to start posting the work I put in and changes I make?

Just start a thread here in the gen talk. Post your updates and questions and you'll gather a following, look at some of the build threads on here to get an idea on what they did and how they did it, frankly some are pretty entertaining, from accidental animal torture to outrageous beer titles. Most here have been there done that and will help you make the most of your experience working on that car.
You may get a hard time from me and some others but it's all in fun.

Paging Alex, are you still with us?
