Progress Thread My Kenne Bell Twin Screw'd Foxbody thread, (new addition to the family)

I PUT a canister back on my 85. It got rid of 95% of the gas fumes after driving it. Don't just plug the vent line...your tank will not like that. I sounds like a shaken up soda when you open the cap to fill up with gas and the tank crunches and groans because it's not venting. I just have the vent to the canister and the canister is open to the atmosphere.

I found out that the PiMp ECU needs to see both vacuum and boost so I moved that line to the discharge side which opens a port in the inlet for the charcoal canister. All is good now.

The charcoal canister purge valve will not work unless you repin the pimp to open it...

Don't hook the canister up to the manifold vacuum it will cause tuning issues.

If you want to use it (will use an output for the valve and will need to be linked to a table for fuel trim) it can be done but will complicate the tune. Pm for details.

Thanks Steve I totally forgot about that. I'll leave it disabled for now and dump the line in the fender for now until I figure it out with you. I've had no charcoal canisters in previous foxs and wasn't bothered by fumes (didn't notice them honestly)

Back on the ground and waiting on a couple key parts to arrive early this next week. Should be back on the road and tuning next weekend. Car is filthy and needs a bath.

Ok, how hard is it to get the correct size o-ring from American Muscle? Maybe the third time will be when they get it right!

Both o-rings were packaged for a 90mm TB but clearly are way too big to fit the groove. This time AM said they'll test fit the o-ring before shipping it out to me. Genius! The mistake begins with Accufab packaging their product with the incorrect size o-ring and AM being to lazy to test fit. I will hurry up and wait, again.

Just an idea...canister oil filters on newer cars take a similar o ring. The new filter elements come with o rings.

If you can get someone to let you dig through a couple at the parts store I'm sure you'll find an o ring that fits.

If i were AM, I wouldn't think to test fit them either... until after the first one that went out was wrong. :chin

This was the second o-ring that was packaged wrong. I got my Accufab 90mm TB from AM, went to install it and the o-ring labeled for a 90mm TB was too big. I told AM about this and that I think it was packaged incorrectly from Accufab and passed along to me. So what did they do? They raided another Accufab 90mm TB for it's o-ring labeled correctly for a 90mm TB and rushed it out to me. Same problem again. So now they are finally going to test fit it before sending it out to me. My point is that they should've done this when I originally brought this up, it only takes a few extra seconds to double check fitment.

On another note, Shannon from Stinger Performance was quick with getting me a new base tune for a V8 with boost. @a91what , do you want to take a look at the tune file for me before I load it up and start plugging my info in?
Sure, i want to see how complete there base tunes are anyway.

Here is the kicker, no matter how good the base tune is because of the fact that it is a speed density tune changing parameters will throw things off. How much is always fun to find out.

Either way, if it needs tweaking I'll go ahead and do it and repost.

I think that was my point as well. lol I would have thought it made sense to check it once they were contacted that the one that shipped was the wrong size.
