I Want To Be Like Groverdill. Give Me Your Thoughts

So where that '88 located? :)

the one I didnt buy? lol
I can hook you up with the guy if you are serious

Swapped in a new coolant temp sensor and now the temp gauge works ( would you believe not one part store had one in a 10 mile radius? It's not like they didn't put one in every SBF for 30 years).I love dealing with parts store counter monekeys. Every one tried to sell me the ECT sensor. :nonono:.
Tomorrow I register, insure it and will get her an antique license plate- lol

I'd Love to have another one of these.

I can't afford those tires...last time I priced them out they were like $300 each!
The crazy thing is. When I was a teenager with an '80 Capri -I had those wheels, and was buying one rear tire a month (at least lol.) for around $50 bucks installed from the only tire shop in my little country town :D
Amazing how much metric sizes have gone up lol

Marti report?
probably.. i think they go for like $90 these days

on another note.. took the car for a short drive and the temp gauge after a few minutes went all the way to H.. I am thinking the gauge is shot or a bad ground as the car is not overheating. I let the car sit for an hour, removed the rad cap, put on the lisle funnel, turned the heat on, and let it idle for 20 minutes. the Temp gauge was 3/4 the way up and the car was idling perfect with no air bubbles. stat wasn't sticking. no puking or any signs the engine was overheating..Can't imagine the new sending unit is bad.

i'll have to troubleshoot some more, take the dash off and remove the gauge

took her to my buddy's shop yesterday for her first oil change.
Got to say this is one of the cleanest fox body's I've ever owned.
Not a drip, leak or speck of rust on the bottom.
I was presently surprised to see new stuts and shocks, new magnaflow cat back, what looks lie new lower control arms and
it appears someone swapped the 7.5 for an 8.8 at some point
newer rack and pinion
looks like newer springs- B springs?
The only thing I would say is maybe dissapointing is i think the rear end gears are 3.73's.. believe it or not this was the first time on the highway with the car and at 70mph the tach ( if accurate was at 2500) at 75 mph around 2750.. according to my calculator that is around 3.73

Sounds about right. One thing you may have noticed with the AOD is that if you cruise in OD, and press the throttle to a certain point, it forced a downshift to 3rd gear no matter what RPM. This can get highly annoying if you are doing 80MPH or so and try to pass a car, and all the sudden get an accidental downshift and find yourself doing 5000RPM.

...and forged internals (cast crank). TFS heads and a moderate cam, fits together nicely if you're not looking to touch the bottom end for a while.
You are NOT helping Noobz. I promised the wife I would keep this one stock. ( even though it has magnaflow's , subframe connectors, and now 3.73's). Plus it's $3000 to do a top end kit and MAF swap.

I like it all except for the conversion portion. Screw that man... Leave it SD, TFS heads, intake... Have Ed or one of those guys cut you an SD cam. TOTALLY streetable, stock manners just moah powah!

Even if it doesn't have the best peak numbers of any TFS ever, I'll bet the over the whole range, it will be equal. No sense making power after 6300 rpm unless race-car.

I'm a bit jelly. :( Take your time for sure. No hurry. I regret not staying within the confines of SD. There's a lot more room that I though (20 years ago). With the new after-market SD systems, those old confines are gone (with money of course).

Yeshhhh.... Where it begins getting dicey is when you get the point where fuel injectors need to be swapped. Injector swapping means tuning... :ack:

Then we start getting into all of the reasons why MAF happens. Cam is the other reason, of course. Tuning SD means things like.... (whatever that nightmare tuning system was that almost always NEARLY worked).

Eh, I think I'm gonna run 30s with my combo anyway. I would like to go power adder too.

Actually, just debating selling off all my Windsor stuff and going Coyote.

/hijack. Carry on
