Gears For An Automatic

Do you do any interstate/highway driving?
4:10’s on the interstate/highway will put you fairly high up in the rpm’s for however long you ride the highway.
If you do a lot of interstate driving-I’d recomend the 3.73’s- you can always play with tire sizes to make small changes with what ever gearing you choose :-)

3.73 gears here and they are perfect with the 4r70w.

4.10 would be a bit much for normal usage with the auto. But then again I used to run 4.30 gears in a 5 speed car. Don’t fear the gear but install what is needed for your combo.

The car currently has CAI, Bama chip, X-pipe and high flow Magnaflow mufflers installed. I am not sure but I might install a base Supercharger on it in the future.

If you're going to put a blower on it, or any power adder, go with 3.73. I trap 119 and am about out of gear on 26x10.50's. Of course you can solve that by running 28 inch tall tires etc if needed.

Our n2o car ran 4.10's. We were essentially over geared. We picked up 4 mpg going from a 26 to a 27 inch tall slick. Ended up dropping 1mph with 28s but it hooked better so we were quicker.
