Progress Thread Therapy Car-- Freshening Up the Lower Intake

I've got to give some positive feed back to LMR. I contacted them about the speedometer drive gear retainer. They responded back with an email that I could reply to. I sent them pictures of the retainers. They gave me a full refund and are looking into the issue with the manufacture.

I cant drink coffee, shift gears, while doing a burnout, and film it. I know I suck. But I can take a picture to prove it moves! Lol.

Took the car out again. Everything went great but I still have that noise coming from the rear brakes. I'm going to pull the drums, again, and see if I can find anything wrong, again. If everything looks good I might try a new set of shoes.

Oh, apparently the sending unit in the gas tank is hanging. I was riding around yesterday thinking "Hey, I'm getting pretty decent gas mileage!" Nope, no I wasn't. I rolled up to the shop and shut the car down. Moved the lawnmower out of the way. Got back in the car fired it back up and the gas gauge had gone from just under half a tank to about an eighth of a tank! I'll just add that to the list of things I should do something about LOL. Good thing these cars have such a massive gas tank!

Pulling the tank was on the list anyway. I need to replace the fuel lines, inspect the tank, replace the seals and what not anyway.

Maybe you should just go ahead with the rear disc conversion...
Actually that is a great option. Biggest problem there is money. I need a MC, spindles, I want to upgrade the front calipers, rear calipers, axles bc I want to upgrade to 5 lug, and of course wheels and tires. I have started to collect parts for this project though. I mean, I've got a Cobra booster. I guess saying I'm collecting parts is exaggerating a bit as I only have one part....

Option number 2 is I quit doing whatever dumb crap I'm doing and just fix the stupid thing! Option 2 is also cheaper.

Well, doing the 5-lug conversion definitely makes it a bigger job. One reason why I’m still running 4-lug setup.

Yeah, the 4 lug rout would be easier, but I like the options that the 5 lug setup opens up. I'm not planning to upgrade the axles to 31 spline or anything like that. I have no intention of putting this car on any kind of track. I also don't really see myself trying to push stupid high HP numbers out of it either. If there is a strong reason to upgrade to 31's I'm all ears. I just dont want to have to change the differential.

My brain screams when I see pics of you brakes, don't know why, likely just my brain, it does things I can't explain.
One thing that I would advise would be to take the green and white spring ends and squeeze the ends around where it wraps the stud at the top, you want it to wrap the stud as much as possible.

OK, so in an effort to make the General happy, I dont want him to come steal my car, I spent some time redoing the springs and retainers on my right rear brake. I swear I'm not doing this to try to make my car safer, or fix the annoying scrubbing noise. This is all the result of one person not like how my stuff looks. :D

And now for your viewing pleasure. More pictures of my boring ass drum brakes! Exciting I know.

If anyone sees something that I'm missing by all means point it out. To me this looks a lot better than it did.
