I have a wrecked 95 GT in the process of swapping it into a 95 v6 base model manual doors windows locks etc. I have the doors ready to be put on but confused with the wiring harness for the door. Do i need to swap the driver side harness aswell? I already have the passenger side ECU harness in.

I did a similar swap, but I put in a Cobra motor and tranny. Ford tried to save money, so the body wiring and even the dash are identical on all 1994-1995 Mustangs. No need to swap them. Now, there is different wiring if one of the cars has the Premium sound system or the Mach 460. But that won't affect the car running.

You can reuse the wiring to the underhood fuse box, the connector is right by the coolant overflow tank under the top lip of the radiator support. The only issue you might have is if one of the cars has ABS and the other doesn't.

The engine and tranny harness plug into the same chassis harness points as the V6. You'll have to swap the ECU harness, but there are plugs under the dash to hook the GT ECU harnes to the interior harnesses.

I already have everything swapped over ecu, harness, motor etc. The wrecked GT has power windows, locks and everything so Im going to want to swap over both doors completely. Im lost on where the wiring from the doors goes to and plugs into

So it turns out the 95 GT and V6 bodies have different plugs for the power door harness. Been busy but went by the junkyard and got new plugs off a V6 with power doors, gonna have to solder the plugs in once I find some diagrams

Interesting. I was unaware that the body wiring harness was different for power & manual doors. Obviously the door is different. I'm not clear on what exactly you're swapping from the GT, beyond the engine. Are you putting the GT's power doors on the V6 body? If so, you can take the interior wiring harness from the GT and put it in the V6. This means you'll have to remove the dash.

I've got a Ford electrical manual, and there are three types of connectors for each of the two plugs for the driver's door; and they don't interchange with each other. From what I can tell, they depend if you have:
* A coupe with all options (power doors & windows, keyless entry and anti-theft)
* A convertible with all options
* A coupe with anti-theft only (probably your V6)

From what I can tell, the V6 manual harness has a connector with two rounded corners, while the GT's harness is square. The other connector is square for both, but has different slots & alignment grooves so you can't connect the different types together. I believe the coupe and convertible doors have different harnesses as well, since the 'vert's door window switches control the rear quarter windows in the back.

You might be better off swapping the entire interior wiring harness between the cars.

I think I am going to swap the interior harnesses as you said, I have been trying to avoid that because of the dash removal but if it will be less hassle then i might be going that route for sure. I have done a complete swap from the GT to the V6 body, everything except the interior harness. I have swapped the physical doors over as well.

It's possible to remove the dash on your own, but it is a lot of work for one person - I've done it three times on three different Mustangs. If you can get someone to help you it makes lifting the dash much easier. I would suggest removing the dashes completely from both cars as it should make swapping the harness much easier. Good luck.

Just an update I ended up getting 2 sets of plugs for both the driver and passenger doors off of a 95 V6 that came with power door options and wired those plugs into the GT power doors harness. It was frustrating figuring out which wires from the GT doors correspond with the V6 plugs but after a couple of hours or so with the voltmeter and some trial and error everything works now!! Don't know if I would recommend this method but it was less hassle than removing the dash and swapping harnesses. Thanks for the help :)
