Engine Engine build help

Hey guys. Ok so Ive got a 5.0 ho for my 87 foxbody 5 speed tranny. Here's what I have. 99 302 explore block with a 4.00in bore, stock crank with 3in stroke, explore intake and throttle body, and the 19lb ev6 injectors. Patriot freedom heads. 64 cc 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. This will be my daily driver. Now for what i need. Would like a lumpy cam with good idle but nothing to radical. Lifters, rockers push rods pistons timing chain. I would like someone to help me pick out a cam rockers and pistons etc to run with this engine. Again daily driver. Never going to strip or race it just want to be able to drive to work and have fun on the streets from time to time. I will also be swapping to maf as well. Any advise would help.
Edit: well just found out that the 99 intake won't have the egr passage. What do yall recommend I should do?

That depends, do you live in a state with emissions testing? If not, then have it turned off when you get it tuned.
DSS pistons with valve reliefs for those heads, not sure what the heads flow, so can't recommend a cam without it.

Cars old enough to where they just do a safety inspection. Ive been told there 185cc and 60cc. Ill have to verify when I get the stuff together. Ive read that they are alot of head foe 302. U can make it work but verify specific on cam. Im wondering if its easier to just go carb. Having to do conversion and everything else is going way above budget. Specially since I was just scammed out of a thousand bucks.

I drive 12 miles to work and back to home 5 days a week. Nothing else. Don't plan on using it for anything else but to just enjoy my drive to work. Anyways this would get me running while I build the original block overtime. Than I would decide to keep it carb or got back to efi with maf conversion when I can slowly build. For now I need quick fast and cheap.
Intake
Carb
Distributor
Coil
Fuel pump/plumbing
Rewiring
Cheaper??? :nono:
Do yourself a favor, keep the efi.
Let's see i need heads, lower intake upper intake, injectors ecm throttle body conversion harness maf plus the actual rebuild itself.

What?, I've driven both old school hot rod carbed 302's and modern EFI 5.0, the 5.0 drives like a 460 at low rpm. The old school carb motors never made that kinda torque.

I went back and read your original post, you got advice based on that, now you got some 'old race car builder' to help you put a carb on it, good luck with that, not say'n it won't work, I'm say'n your going backwards, you do you,

Not the thread for this debate but just for you:
65 shelby 289 306 hp 329 lbft torque
89 gt 5.0 225 hp 300 lbft torque
93 cobra 235 hp 280 lbft torque

Ok well I was just trying to build at lowest cost right now. Thought I could go carb get more power cheaper that upgrading my efi. After thinking bout it all last night ive decided to go ahead and keep my oe efi setup and just keep it speed density for now. I have everything to rebuild it but the cam. The original cam was destroyed. It was being eatin up on 2 of the lobes. Can anyone suggest what cam I can put in this or is the oe cam the best to use. I know being speed density is limited. Everything will stock except for gt40p heads.

http://iskycams.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1150 That or stock are your cam choices with speed density. Isky made that cam specifically for speed-density 5.0 cars, and can still make one to order.

If cost is a consideration, this is the stock replacement: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3950091&cc=1133895&jsn=993

Also, if cost is a consideration right now, forget going carbureted. By the time you buy a different fuel pump, distributor, intake manifold, carburetor, air cleaner, etc. You'll actually have exceeded the cost of a mass-air conversion.

Nevermind. Forgot ill have to change exhaust on gt40p heads. I just want to be able to throw it back together for now and run it. Ill use my other block for the real build. Thank you for the advice. Didn't know I'd get so much hate for mentioning going to carb. Lol

Can I run the gt40p heads on the speed density or I am better off with stock e7 heads?
GT40P will be fine with SD. They don't affect manifold vacuum or airflow enough to be outside of the range the map sensor and ECM are looking for.

Twister over on AFM ran the Ford Y303 heads with speed density and the cam I posted above in his car. I actually drove that car between Gateway International Raceway and I-55 Speedway back in 2003. Other than a tendency to hunt for idle speed until it warmed up, it had excellent drivability.

I'm not hating for wanting to switch to a carb, you should see in my build thread where I pondered going carbureted on the 4.6DOHC I'm putting together for my car. In the end I'm going EFI there for the same reason I recommended you staying with EFI, it's actually going to be cheaper.
