Anybody try these center vent pods ?

These are angled but they also offer them in straight.
I've been thinking about replacing my Autometer 2-5/8 double gauge pod since both the gauges I
have there are now 2-1/16 .

Yes, you are correct that the vents are 3D printed. You can paint with high build primer and painted to match the interior.

Agreed, the layer height looks to be way to high at probably .2 or .26 and should have been lowered to like .12 or .08. Nobody wants to wait the extra time for a better finish.

I'd also have to ask what material it's made out of? If it's PLA, that will break down over time due to UV exposure.

Just says their made of "high quality plastic to resist warping and breakage".

Just sent seller a message asking what type of plastic they are printed with, I'll update when I get a response.

Seller replied to me in about 5 min. said they are made of ABS, so for $50 I ordered a set and will update when I get them.
They also said customers have painted them and to look them up on instagram "inyourvents".
I don't do instagram but if anyone is curious check them out.

I took my gauges out of the vents a few years back. One of the best things i've done to make the interior look more normal.
Reinstalled them in the plate that puts them under the radio.

I have the drivers vent gauge pod from the same seller. Very happy with it. I could’ve sanded it and painted it but it doesn’t bother me. I’m considering buying the center vents someday when I need more gauges.

Once I got them I would sand them, spray them with primer/filler, sand a little more, and paint.

Well after waiting almost a month to receive these pods they finally arrived on Thursday.
I could of lived with the rough 3D printing but decided to scuff, prime and paint before install.
Used Prep cleaner , red scotchbrite , rattle can high build and sem presidio color coat.
Here's what they looked like out of the box

Painted, pretty close match factory vent is slightly darker but I'm happy with it.
