I especially like how they're trying to pass it off as "new"

Gotta wonder though, how clogged are the fuel passages after a nice fresh red paint job? I think whoever did this probably tried flipping houses and did the same thing. There's a house up the road that they did something similar. It's a brick ranch similar to mine that they painted white. They did have some work done to it inside and it looks like all of the windows were replaced, but I think they're asking a bit much for it. They bought it in October(?) for about $275k then listed it in the begining of December for $575 iirc. I think they're crazy but hope they sell it for that - it'll increase my property value....

Here's a little before and after courtesy Google maps and Zillow.

I just can't understand why you'd paint brick. It's pretty much maintenance free, so they make it where you have to maintain it. It does look a little cleaner, but I'm sure it won't in a few years.

No idea if they remodeled anything inside the house but their money spent on the outside would have been better used on a pro landscaper.

I think painting the brick was a mistake... A big one.

It looked like they did a bit of stuff inside, and they closed the carport off to add square footage. What I think is they spent way too much money on what they did that they'll most likely end up selling it at a loss.

Here's the zillow listing so you can see what it looks like now. It really seems that someone thinks they're the next Joanna Gaines or something.... All I can say is it's definitely not my cup-o-tea.

I looked a little bit at the nearby homes. They [might] get something in the 500s. It's a pretty big house. The comps I saw are running in the 360 range for roughly 500 less sq ft.

So, maybe?

It looks, at least from the outside, a lot like my house. MIne was built in 75. Not quite sure how big the basement is, but it must be completely finished too. My house is roughly the same size by the looks of it - and every other house in the neighborhood - and is only about 1300 sq feet and the basement was almost completely finished. There was one utility room that wasn't finished. My basement is only about 1000 sq feet, it doesn't go under my kitchen or carport.

Hopefully - as long as I can get back on my feet in the next couple months - I'll have my house appraised later this year to get financing for my garage build and other stuff. Like I said, I hope they sell it for that price to increase my property value, but I think it's a bit high.

Here's one that had me scratching my head for a minute. First, it's for sale....

And what was "brand new still in the box?"

Oh..... mystery solved although I don't see a box anywhere.
