85 T-Top doors hard to close... Just how it is?

The 85 T-Top I recently got has very hard to close doors. I've changed the door striker and bushings but it didn't make a difference. The hinge pins don't have really any slop to them (My 91 LX hinge pins are sloppy yet the doors close easy). I did notice that the 85 T-Top has a lot more weatherstrip around the mirror area and it is part of or the entire reason why the doors are hard to close. I tested this by removing the door striker competely and trying to shut the door. It is hard to even shut the door because of that weatherstrip. Is this just how the T-Top cars are?

I cannot tell from the video if the seal is the correct seal or whether it is installed properly however... dot dot dot

How long has it been like this? Has that seal had the opportunity to sit in the sun/heat and "bake" with the door closed?

Is there a possibility the doors were changed?
The doors appear to be correct, 91 had a 'batwing' mirror and was mounted different and the mount for the mirror was removed so I believe the window rubber was different, pretty much has to be in that area.

They are definitely org style doors, need better pics of the area where the mirror mount meets the door/windscreen pillar.
Okay, I'm at work until tomorrow but will get some more pics then. I did trim off some of the weatherstrip in the mirror area. That big thick portion... It's seated into a channel. Mine was longer than even the channel. I trimmed to end exactly at the channel and that has improved it already.

On another note, it seems the only way to get 79-86 mirrors is second hand right? Nowhere I've looked seems to repro those. Sucks the part support isnt as vast as 87-93

There's always pluses and minuses man. The kewlest part is that it's a 4-Eye.
