Is the FMS gt-40 manifold worth the money, is it really that good?????

I'm a stickler for FORD parts...in my opinion the lower intake on both the GT-40 and the Cobra deserves the extra attention...I had mine ported right by the injector area to make the ports a little bigger to take a 1250 gasket...opening that area will improve airflow making the GT-40 style...

    fuel pressure required

your stock fuel pressure regulator runs anywhere between 39psi to 41psi...with stock injectors...with bigger injectors you still have to run at the same psi because your MAF is still calibrated for that specific injector...running less or more will influence the way your MAF delivers the proper...

Is there such a thing as a "Factory Freak"?

I wasn't particularly pointing the finger at him, however, its rsw007 times that I question...now it could be elevation or just a messed up time slip (yes that has happend to few people before)...But while 25thMustang is on the subject I can't believe he's doing that on stock heads, cam and a...

Is there such a thing as a "Factory Freak"?

No I'm not kidding...How much does your car weigh? Supposedly his car weighs 3280...I have doubts about his times especially through an auto...With your RWHP your and your ET time your car should be around 3000lbs or a little less...It just seems like some of you are running too fast for what...

Is there such a thing as a "Factory Freak"?

What elevation were you in when you ran your car? Those ET numbers are extrmely high for a stock 5.0...To run those times you would need about 260-270RWHP in a car that weighs 3200lbs...on top of that you have an AOD too...hmm I don't know about that.

I need a clutch cable that is made in the USA...is that too much to ask for?

well is it? I just ordered and received one from Ford Racing and it's made in Taiwan...I'm really upset since before I placed my order through Summit I actually called Ford Racing and specifically asked if it was made in the USA...they lied to me...Nothing against the people from that...

    3.73's to 4.10 possibly 4.30...is that too much gear for a 5.0L?

Well I don't want to bother Ed with such novice questions...besides I know what he will say..."Don't fear the gear"...The car made 291RWHP at 5200RPM and 322 RWTQ at 4500RPM the car wasn't tuned at all and The guy on the dyno stoped the car rather in lower RPM's because for some reason he...

    3.73's to 4.10 possibly 4.30...is that too much gear for a 5.0L?

thanks guys...I know this is a tough one...4.10 or 4.30...I have to get my new clutch packs so I figure I will re-do the whole rear-end...My cam makes power at 2600-5600...I will have full suspension done by next year...My heads are also ported and I need the extra velocity to get them...

Hey guys...currently I have 3.73's in my car...the car is a 91 GT 5 speed vert...the following mods are done: GT-40X heads GT-40 intake FTI cam rest of the bolt ons...I want to swithch gears from 3.73 to 4.10 or even a 4.30...would 4.30 be too much for a 5.0L? Would I run out of gear by...

    GT40 worth the extra money?

well if you are thinking of getting a Cobra intake new from Jegs...BEWARE it is made in CHINA...nothing against chinese but they can't make a quality product...anyways the GT-40 is still made in the USA...they perform about the same...the Cobra can be cut and ported...both can be extrude and...

6.200 inch pushrods and shims!are my valves on GT-40X heads not opening all the way?

Well my car has not been running to it's full potential...And NO I don't think I am use to my car...I started thinking and I found out that my pushrods are 6.200 inches instead of the standard 6.250 and I also have shims that are about 15 thousandths...SO are my vavles not opening all the way...

    Is too much timing bad?

yeah...after countless tries and assistance from Ed I just said F that and installed it straight up...the car made 291RWHP and 322RWTQ untuned...that's not where the problem lies... I am running 93 octane at all times...

    Is too much timing bad?

thanks guys...I set timing at 16* and 39 psi fuel pressure...car ran like crap at top end such as 3 and 4th gear...Than I set the timing back to 18* and 40 psi and the car runs much better...I did not reset the computer since as far as I know the computer is a learning computer and should...

    Is too much timing bad?

I'm running 20* timing with 48psi of fuel with vacuum off out of 30lb injectors...cars feels like crap...WTF...is it too much fuel or too much timing? Help me set the car where it is suppose to be at...I know that the stock fuel pressure should be around 39-40psi...however, it seems as if I set...

    MAF big enough?

You can never go too big on a MAF...personally with that set up I would go with at least a Pro-M 75mm or a 77mm and even an 80mm...Yours will work but you will get more power from a bigger MAF...

    Which heads TFS/AFR

I would stick with your GT-40X heads...I don't think it is worth swapping heads just to get 10-20RWHP...The GT-40 head design is actually pretty good...if you really want them to work well with a blower...port the exhaust side and do some bowl blending...and you got yourself an awsome head...or...
