anyone running Mickey Thompson Drag Radial 275/40/17 on a 17x8 rim

will they fit on a 17x8 rim...Summit recommends a 9.5 inch wide rim...Mickey Thompson website recommends 9 inch rim...anyone know if the drag radials will fit on a 17x8 rim...thanks

They will fit on an 8 inch rim but the sidewall will buldge a little. It is not what is recommended but it will work.
I wouldn't do it.. I used a regular 275/40/17 on a 8" rim and it took two guys to get it on the rim and then the car handled like A$$ until i put the same tires on a set of 17x9's. I would hate to have seen it with a softer tire like the MT drag's. You might get away with a set of 275 nitto's since they run slightly thinner, but if the MT run like most I wouldn't.
