Almost done putting on my bullitt intake. Went to put on the bullitt specific alternator today, and the bottom bolt of the alternator towards the passanger side has a vortech spacer sandwhiched between the vortech bracket and the alternator. Problem i'm running into is that the new alternator...

what to use to cut cast aluminum

thanks for the tips guys. all i have at home is a hack saw, i'll try that first. The quality of cut doesnt matter since it will be covered up by a silicone coupler anyways. But then i always love an excuse to get more power tools :nice:

what to use to cut cast aluminum

I'm having a hell of a time trying to get my bullitt intake to work/line up with my intercooler piping/MAF. I got a C&L inlet that attaches to the throttle body that is made out of solid aluminum. The angle on it isnt going to work for my setup. So i'm thinking about cutting a few inches off it...

    Trickflow plenum whistling

my accufab made that sound at the same exact rpm. i never new where it was coming from until i ended up taking off the TB/plenum combo to sell it. Then it was gone. It's pretty common, i never had any problems with it otherwise.

    valve cover paint issues

i used the scrotch brite red pad to sand. I used the clear plastic primer before so i couldnt tell if scratching was going thru the primer or not. The adhesion promoter clear that i got now is made by duplicolor also. That stuff counts as a primer, correct?

    valve cover paint issues

I dont know about using the self etching primer on stock plastic valve covers though. Isnt that stuff only for metal? I got some adhesion promoter and some duplicolor cast alum paint. Hopefully it works better than before.

    valve cover paint issues

I just painted them last week. Oh well, i guess i can sand them down again and throw some more paint on them. Stupid cheap ass pastikote junk. And yeah, i shook the hell out the can every minute or so. I'll go with duplicolor. The only reason i bought the other stuff was because i couldnt find a...

    valve cover paint issues

I decided to paint my valve covers with some cast aluminum paint (rattle can). I prepped really well with a degreaser/cleaner, then took some red scotch brite pads to it and used plastic primer, then sprayed with 3 coats of the cast alum paint. Humidity/outside temps were fine when i painted. I...

    bullitt valve covers

the bullitt covers have driver side oil fill so the intake can clear the spout. This is also the same as the 96-98 GT valve covers. The rest of the years for the romeo engine all have passanger side oil fills. So Therefore the spout is different and so is the oil fill cap. I"ll check with Ford...

    valve cover bolts

where can i get a new set of valve cover bolts? I painted my valve covers and noticed the bolts are very corroded. I tried cleaning them in some CLR. Bad idea, that crap took off the zinc wash on the bolts down to the bare metal. I'm sure they will now rust. I cant find anywhere to get the bolts...

    indexing spark plugs

Does anybody do it on their cars? i'm changing out my plugs tonite and thinking of doing it. Ideally the gap on the plug should be facing the valves, preferably the exhaust valve. Ive never had the heads off, so i dont know where the valves are in relation to where the spark plugs sit in...
