    burnout at the track

Normally at the track to do a decent burnout, if you get your rpms above 3 grand, normally that will do it. You just want to get the surface hot and you dont really want to burn off any rubber since they are street tires. Good Luck

    burnout at the track

I have raced a few times with my 87 GT w/AOD and street tires. I do a small burnout, and I think it does help a little with getting off the line quick. I beat a 97 saleen to the 60 foot mark, so I think it helps. About doing a burn out with an AOD, not too hard to do, as long as you have the...

    Car work space rentals?

I have a question that someone here might be able to answer. I live in an apartment in seattle and dont have a garage. My 87 gt needs a lot of work that I cant do on the street or in a friends garage for weekend. Does anyone know if there are such places like rental garages? I have seen...

Electronics reset on right hand turns?

Same thing happened to me a while back, I'd be driving, hit a bump and the whole car's power system just died and then came back on a second later. What it turned out to be was one of my battery wires was too long and it was rubbing on the driver side headers, the heat melted a hole in the...

Volts reading w/cooling fan and loads on?

Yeah I added a 4 gauge ground wire, but probably not in the right spot I think. I have it running from the passenger fender wall to a random bolt under the alternator that I think attaches to the passenger side head. Should I just replace the old braided wire on the back of the engine to just...

Volts reading w/cooling fan and loads on?

I am trying to figure out why my 3G and electric fan instal is draining my electric system so, what does your volts read while the fan is on, head lights and radio etc on aswell when the car is at idle. I had my alternator tested at idle and it was just over 13 volts but there has been times...

Painting Seatbelts... Good Idea or Bad Idea??

No you should not paint your belts, I work as a model maker with a product design company so I do a lot of profesional painting and manurfacturing. If you want to change the color of your belt the only way to do it and make it last is to dye it. Two reasons paint wont work, one: since the belt...

Taurus electric fan speed? (for stangs w/taurus fans)

I have heard that the electric fan out of a ford taurus has two speed settings, which speed should I have it on. I think right now its on the high speed which would take more juice to power. I'm just trying to figure out why my volts are down when my fan is on even though I did the 3G...

Electric Fan problem after one month HELP!!!!

About a month ago I installed a 3G alternator and an electric fan out of a Taurus. Well within the last week, my volt gauge is getting lower and lower. When I first installed the set up, and when I would be idling with the fan on and my head lights on the volts would be pretty high, around 13 or...

    Oil Pressure Going NUTS

When you changed your oil, did you use an engine flush or just a straight change? I know sometimes when you use an engine flush additive before you drain it, the engine flush can dislodge a peice of gasket somewhere in the engine. If that happened it might of gotten caught in the oil pump and or...

    smoked battery??

I would go back and check all the wires that run from the battery, the alt and the electric fan. Sounds like there could of been a wire that got crossed thats connected with the fan that went back and fryed the battery. That happened to me when I put in fog lights, I didnt wrap or protect the...

    New exhaust now smoking?

Most of the time all new exhuast, headers to tailpipes that are "new" not used will smoke as they heat up. During the manurfacturing process of pretty much any bent, stamped or worked with force is coated in oil to aid in the process as well as being a rust protection sheild. If your exhaust...

You are right about the 05+ mustangs coming down in price and theres a good chance I will end up getting one of those and not another fox. I agree I am a huge fox fan and like them more then any other mustang years, I've heard from many people and articles that the 87-93 mustangs were first...

I agree with what you said, I currently drive an 87 gt thats pretty much stock besides exhaust and a couple engine mods. The car does have a lot of body damage and other problems. I bought that car when I was 18 and I sure did get into trouble with it. I am a couple years out of college with a...
