    Thanks for the tip....now that I think about it, I could see it being U-joints as the sound leaves with higher engine speed and faster car speed (more noise = harder to hear). I'll check that out.

    Hmm...could be bad rings? Does the car smoke at all? Also, I still don't know if you've pulled your codes? This will tell you if your emmissions system has any failing components. A bad EGR of thermactor won't make your car run like ass, but might throw you into emmissions trouble. How...

    Reccomendations please

    As long as your cam isn't to extreme, you could probably just go with some GT40 springs. Best thing to do is choose your cam, and make sure the springs have the correct lift. 1.6 RR's should suffice. With those mods, I'd be looking at a MAF conversion before I change the cam.

    Occasional grinding in trans

    I think the 2nd gear thing is pretty common in these cars, something to do with the synchros. As far as the speedo and odometer both being out, check the speedo cable. Sometimes it can work its way out of the tranny. If so, just slide it in and your good to go.

    What does this number on my heads mean?

    On a set of E7 heads that I have in my garage, there is the number 24 near the front, on the top side of the exhaust side of the head. The heads on my car have the number 16. Any ideas whats up with that? Thanks, Derek

    Can anyone ID this TB? IS it a 65mm or a stocker?

    I think I got it figured out. I've matched the code on the sticker to other 65mm TB's on ebay. I'll bid :)
