Fuel Sn95 Mustangs Sitting And Fuel Pump Death ?

I have a '99 Mustang GT that I've owned since new (124K on the clock). I have it sitting in a garage now, with 1/4 tank of "fuel". If you can call the "fuel" sold nowadays as fuel rather than "corn likker". But I digress. While researching several DTC codes (mostly my fault), I noticed many...

Dorman replacement PI intake manifold comments ?

I thought I was the last remaining owner w/o an intake manifold cracking. Well, I just installed a Dorman replacement PI manifold, and have a huge vacuum leak. The Dorman manifold had "cone" shaped holes for the fuel injectors. The stock manifold has a circular , "machined" surface for the...

12 year old vacuum lines - 99 GT

There's 8 pages of threads about vacuum here on Stangnet, but I can't find any that mention a source for new lines. I asked the parts counterman at Ford once, and he said they don't stock them. Some of the vacuum lines on my '99 GT look "specialized", and I don't want to put any generic...

HELP ! - Window regulator question

I got my new window regulator yesterday. I just took out the old regulator, and unbolted the motor. I noticed that on the new regulator there are no threaded "inserts" for the motor mounting bolts. Please see pic. Where can I get some ? Or should I have gotten them with the new regulator ? Thanks.

    Looking for a short

I know this thread is about as exciting as a Chinese truck, but : My dome light is inoperable, and the fuse blows as soon as I install it. So, I have a short. I pulled the door panel, and looked at the little door switch, and the wires still had their cladding , and no shorts to sheet metal...

Lessons Learned - '99 GT "EZ" Pad relacement

A few lessons learned while doing the front brake pads on my 99 Mustang GT 107K !: 1. This year's GT has PBR dual piston front calipers. I really had to compress the pistons to clear the new pads (Motorcraft pads). This may have caused one of the caliper pistons to hang up, causing the pads to...

Secret Incantations for GT front brakes ?

The situation : 99 Mustang GT - all stock, installed Motorcraft pads on front wheels. All components clean, no leaks seen at the caliper pistons or boots , slider pins greased with very expensive caliper grease, caliper bolts torqued to specifications. Yet, the driver's side caliper still...

    16K on Dunlop Ap A2 's ??

This is ridiculous. I have 16K on a set of warranty replacement Dunlop SP A2's. I rotate the tires, and keep the pressure dialed in, yet they are wearing like they are made of licorice. The tires are warranted for 50K miles ! After I bring these back , they will still find a way to run...

    Technical Comment on Spark Plugs

I just changed my Autolite Platinum spark plugs (over 50k on them) for some Autolite 764 (copper cores). I immediately felt a difference in idle quality and acceleration. I changed the original platinum plugs at about 50k, but didn't notice (or don't remember) a difference then. I don't know...

Early Prod. 99 GT - tensioner question

Looks as if I can't slip the serpentine belt off the pulleys after I rotate the tensioner clockwise. I figured out that the bracket need to come off first, but how does the belt get past the tensioner "arm" This is a 99 GT - production date January '99 . You guys with the later production...
