Brake Job from Hades - The Finale

Did I mention this site rocks and has some great info in the archives ?

I already finished my front brakes (and had some help from this forum, thanks !)

Today I replaced both sets of rear pads, and both rotors (one resurfaced actually, and one brand new from Autozone).

Anyway a search last week revealed that many members had found "frozen/rusted" sliders on the rear brakes, especially the driver's side.

Ding ding ding , we have a winner ! I could not remove one of the pins from the bracket on the driver's side even with "special sauce" and some heat from my propane torch. I brought the bracket to NAPA, and my pals there heated it up ( with MAP ?) and got it out ! Needless to say, both pins on the driver's side were bone dry. The passenger side pins were still lubed and moved great . Were the robots on the driver's side having a bad day in Dearborn in January, 1999 ?

Just posting this in hopes to help another poor devil in the future. BTW, it was about 90 degrees here with 75% humidity , but I'm happy to say I only felt "heat-stroked" in line at Ace, buying a new socket.
