    Mechanical fuel pump lever question

    First time engine builder... Just got a Holley 110gph mechanical fuel pump and the lever/arm that does the pumping is nearly impossible to move up and down by hand. Is this how they are supposed to be or did I get a faulty one from Summit? I would think that the lever should be somewhat easy...

    I planned on using multiple methods, DA sander on flat parts, chemicals where the DA won't get... How'd you do it?

    Thanks for all the advice guys, it's really helpful. I am definitely going to tackle this job myself, so looks like it's time to get to work... My changein plan is because the original plan was to take a week off from work, start on a Friday evening and go from bare metal to bodywork to primer...
