    2.73's. Conserving gas shift around 2000-2400 depending on what gear I'm shifting from. Cruising around shift anywhere from 2000-5000 depending on my mood. Cruising down the highway about 1700-2000.

    5.0 Longest engine life possible??????

    My GT just turned 220,000. I replaced the valve cover gaskets at 200k. Still the original trans and rear end, although the rear end needs gone through soon. LX has 238k, valve covers have never been off. Second trans and the rear end needs a new axle bearing.

    R12 freeon or R134??

    I swapped my GT to R134 several years ago using a retrofit kit from Napa. Works great and blows cold air. About 40 bones and I was good to go.

    fusible link burning!

    Unplug the alternator and try it again. I had an alternator fail a couple years back that created a dead short. Upluged the harness from the alternator and voila', the short dissappeared. Try it, you never know.
