    stumped on the wife's escort

 95 escort/auto+air. compression-170,150,155,170.--computer shows no codes--spark plugs looked identicle and good(a little dry)--motor has 140,000 on it--cured all vacuum leaks--new plug wires and plugs--gutted the cat(merely precautionary)--symptom, it gradually lost power over the last...

    Project: Phoenix.

If I wasn't working 1+1/2 jobs, I'd have beat ya to the boost, now it's looking like we'll get done about the same time. :nice: Out of curiousity, If any of you parts store guys has an idea, I'm wondering what a set of seals and calipers for a tc 8.8 would cost(roughly) Later, Dan

    Octane/compression

Currently I'm running a 91 dp with a .060 shave . The computer argues with inferior brands of 89 octane. Car pulls hardest when it's @55degrees with relatively high pressure in the area. Car closer to being parted everyday as the suspension mounts are rotting out. I got parts laying around...

    bizarre starter noise

Greetings. Been busy a while. Running my 91 into the ground(skip as many repairs as possible cause she'll be parted soon) the starter was getting closer and closer to not turning over the motor and When I finally got around to looking at it, one of the long bolts dropped out of the starter, so...

    Milling Head

I knocked .060 off my 91 dp head. Unless you enjoy resetting the computer and are very careful on the quality of fuel you run, it's too much(I'm cheap and still run 87 octane most of the time). I doubt it gives much horsepower by itself, but with other mods and a fresh valve job the motor gets...

    OOOPs,stripped a tc block

@ 1 year ago I acquired a tc block from a gent in green bay wisc. I was concerned about its condition because I knew he bought it to beat it as a winter beater. He sold the motor to me because he just wanted the back axle, ect. The motor had approx 130,000 miles on it and I thought I would be...

What octane gas does everyone use? (n/a and turbo)

Be quiet guys, my 91 might hear you. It's running 87 octane and doesn't know anybetter :nonono: As some of you know, my 91dp has been milled .060. Earlier on I had a few issues with the computer, but currently it isn't arguing with 87 octane and seems quite happy.(it better because it's getting...

Help me identify desireable 2.3L ECUs.

If they are available, get them, store them, bring em out in 20 years and they will outrun any investment you could have put the money in. Any clue what the factory double snorkel front facing air cleaner off my 70+1/2 455 firebird is worth? enough said.

poor gas mileage I need help!

12/18 leads me to believe the computer is on limp home mode. Spend the $20 or so and get a code reader. Let us know what it says(flashes). To put this in perspective, I regularly get 26+mpg on my 91 which sees the rev limiter at least 5 times a week. Years back I had a 1968 firebird which we...

    Is my booster bad?

Back brakes are way out of adjustment, so they give no resistance untill the pedal has been pumped a few times. Jack the back up and adjust the rear brakes up(yes we do have rear brakes, marginal as they may be) until they start to drag when the wheels are rotated.

My question ( to the guys in the know) 1-Is this a similar block to the 2.3, 2- will a 2.3 bolt up to the bellhousing...

I know you guys have all heard about the movie "The Passion of the Christ".

H E A V Y ! , I finally saw it on sunday afternoon. I go to movies and view the movie as well as analize the crowd. It was rather obvious that many who were in attendance came in with preconcieved ideas of what to expect. During the first 1/2 there was a very emotional flow of energy from the...
