    motor mount install?

Looks like I will probably be removing the strut brace, I think I bottomed out on the distributor cap yesterday and was about a 1/2 inch from the fan reaching the top of the shroud. Thanks for the info, I will remove the brace and jack it up pretty high today. This should do the trick...

    motor mount install?

Is changing out the motor mounts supposed to be a PITA? I just spend over two hours and didn't finish the job. I was able to get the old ones out but couldn't get the new ones in yet. I have a question hopefully someone who has changed them could answer: -Should the new mounts just drop in...

FK-35 or FK-50 for Mark VIII fan

I am going the Mark VIII route and wanted to know which controller would be better? I assume the FK-35 which has 35 amperes of power is enough for the Mark VIII fan right?

    rubber motor mounts

Thanks. I will pick some up at NAPA. Looks like they sell the vert. mounts as a replacement. I actually just did the trans&crossmember mounts about 2 weeks ago when I did the hpipe. The motor mounts will definitely smooth out some rpm vibration. I think the bad mounts allow the motor to...

    rubber motor mounts

I noticed my fan was sagging and grinding down the housing shroud. Took a peek at my motor mounts this morning and they are definitely toast! I am going to replace them with rubber mounts. Should I pay the extra money for the OEM ford vert. mounts, buy the 5.0 resto vert. mount kit, or just...

    17x9's rubbing strut

You really need to know the backspacing on the 17X9" Rim. I have 4 lug cobra R rims and I have 17X8 in the front and 17X9 in the back. The 17X9's will not fit on the fronts properly without a spacer. I had some new tires put on and they switched them by accident, I was turning around after a...

    gears

I am struggling with the same question. I had 3.73s on my 96 Cobra and they worked out really well, but that was a DOHC motor and probably not as torquey at the low end. The 96 came stock with 3.27 gears and the jump in gearing was roughly 0.5....it made a big difference. Since the Notch...

Does anyone have experience with PA PMGR ''Mini''/Hi-Torque Strter w/wire kit #1806?

Just installed one last weekend. So far it is a champ and turns over much better. I was getting a lazy start on cold morning with the old starter and all the connections were solid. The PA starter bolted right in and fixed all my issues. They have free shipping right now if you buy directly...

    H pipe install

I jacked the car back up and used a cut off wheel to trim the end of the hpipe hanger. It was interfering with the speedo cable too much. I took my first drive today and could hear a bit of vibration at very low rpms before the car started moving. I figured it had to be this interference but...

    H pipe install

Yes. the crossmember does have the double hump for the pipes, but I had to remove it because I had to hang the hpipe on the hanger while the hanger was off the transmission mount...... There was really no way to install the hpipe properly into the hanger without removing the crossmember and...

    H pipe install

I think I found enough picture on line to see that the bushing sleeves to in fact go up. The reason I was concerned was because it appears their is a steel tube that runs out of the transmission and I think it is too close to the steel hpipe hanger rod. I may just trim a bit of the hanger rod...

    OEM driveshaft bolt are tight

I found what appeared to be a bit of yellow on the axle flange. It was really faint and was located on the perimeter so I am guessing this yellow strip was the alignment mark. I lined the DS up to that and the DS did have two yellow stickers on it.

    H pipe install

Installed the Magnaflow Hpipe with Cats today. It was definitely a PITA to install in my garage on floor jacks. I had to remove the driveshaft and the transmission crossmember to put the hpipe on the hanger properly. I would have never been able to do it without jacking up the transmission...

    OEM driveshaft bolt are tight

Thanks Black Stang, I will pick some up today and change it tomorrow when I hit the garage. Your sig descritpion of your car looks killer...I ultimately was to run the ecam also with a similar set up.

    OEM driveshaft bolt are tight

Yeah. I picked up a 4 pack at the Ford dealer. They were only like 10 bucks for all of them. You are right, I probably heat treated those bolts pretty good and might have made them more brittle. I also picked up a tail seal for the T5 just figuring you might as well replace it now with the...

    OEM driveshaft bolt are tight

Thanks. That saves me some time I would have spent rolling around under the car inspecting the flange.

    OEM driveshaft bolt are tight

What a PITA, I just had to torch the bolts in order to get them loose. An impact wrench alone was not enough. I guess that loctite on the bolts is some pretty heafty stuff. I am going to install the FRPP AL driveshaft next, should I be worried about trying to find alignment marks on the...

Mass air meter effective bore diameter

Yeah, I know the mass air meter is called a "meter" for a reason since it actually measures the volume of air input to the engine. Any tampering with the meter will just mess up your metering amount. I was just thinking from a pumping loss perspective, the least restriction is the best...

Mass air meter effective bore diameter

I was looking at the 94/95 5.0 mass air meters and they do have a larger 70mm diameter than 55mm fox meters, but there is a large fin down the center of the bore. I would think from a fluild dynamics standpoint that your maximum cfm is compromised since the maximum flow velocity should be a the...

    While H-pipe is dropped...

Glad to hear you got a good deal. My H-pipe looks great, I will be putting it in this next week after our company leaves. Liquid GT, you are right about the poly bushings in the crossmember, probably no big difference between poly & rubber. I thought about it for a bit and the main trans...
