    Should I encourage II ownership?

    You're right about the II finding you. My 78 Coupe was my first car, got it 6 years ago and drove it for for about 2.5 years with no major problems. I sold it for 800 to fund a rebuild the motor in my new (to me) 86 convertable. That 86 found it's way to the scrapper when I bought my 90 GT...

    Wiring a Tach

    That's ok, my only concern is that the TFI coils are souposable higher current or voltage or something, I just don't want to fry my tach. I'll post what I find in the II fourm.

    Some generic wiring items questions and other things not warrenting their own posts

    Here's a few questions that don't warrent their own posts. 1) Anyone know where I can find a 2" rubber grommet for running wires though? something that I can cut the center out of, I need this because I had to cut a 2" hole in my firewall to fit some wires though for my 2.3T install. 2)...

    Wiring a Tach

    I'll do that, I normally try to avoid posting in multiple fourms but I guess this is an exception. It's duraspark II ignition, well that's what it had, and the triggered coil wire went to the tach, just like with the EEC-IV systems. I need to buy a chiltons for that II my (really) old Haynes...

    Wiring a Tach

    I'm putting a 2.3T into a 78 coupe and for the time being want to use the original tach. Being that I'm now using a TFI coil do I need to do anything special to run the coil wire to the tach or just splice the new coil wire into the old circuit?

    Is my wiring harness an 85 or 86?

    Hello, putting a 2.3 turbo in a 78 and just working on the wiring now. At the junkyard today I found a turbo coupe and took the wiring harness and ecu. I was extreamly careful and didn't cut any wires, just unpluged everything and right now I'm going through it removing anything that's not...

    upholstered 78 II seats for cost

    The one that's done looks kinda like that, but the cloth extends to the entire part you sit on, so no sitting on hot vinyl. I have one seat done and it cost me about $120 in materials. I found a local guy who wants them so I have to withdraw the offer.

    upholstered 78 II seats for cost

    My girlfriend and I are getting free upholstery lesons, the only seats we have to use are out of my 78 II that's still getting rewired. Now, I don't intend on even using these seats so I'm willing to upholster them for the experience and let them go for cost. The only reason I'm posting...

    Wire distributor(s)?

    I'm about to start the wiring on my 2.3T in a 78II. I really wanted to use correct color wires for things like the fuel pump and such. Does anyone know of a distributor for different colored automotive wiring? You know, like black with a pink stripe type of stuff. If push comes to shove...

    Bad planning == headackes

    Well, I went out to the junk yard today and got a bunch of thoes connectors attatched to the hard plastic lines. It looks like the hard lines go over the metal lines. So I'll try what was previously mentioned and put it in boiling water to soften it, then try to press it over a metal line...

    Bad planning == headackes

    I went out to the garage today to start building my fuel system, little did I know that I'd make little progress. This is a 78 Mustang II that's getting a 2.3 turbo. My original plans were to have a bung welded in the gas tank and pipe the original 1/4" main line into that for the return...

    Electric fuel pump mounting location?

    Good, that's where I was looking for plant it, thank for the picture.

    Fuel line size

    Ok, I got my 5/16" line and everything else I should need. Stinger, that's one hell of a nice lookin' fuel rail. I'm still new to the 2.3 turbo world, why would that rail be so much easier than the stocker? I'm gonna have to get it working with the stocker for now, I really don't have $125...

    Electric fuel pump mounting location?

    I have an inline electric fuel pump from a Merkur XR4Ti that I'm using in my 2.3T aplication. It's a decently large system with the fuel pump and filter in one mounting assembly. I was wondering where others have mounted their electric fuel pumps. Pictures would be great, if not I'll just...

    Fuel line size

    I'm finishing up a 2.3 T in a 78 II. The original line is 1/4", I was planning on using that for the return line and run a new line for the main, is 1/4" enough or do I need to run 3/8" ? My goal with this enging is about 300hp and no more, that's plenty for the purpose of the car. Is 1/4"...

    Throtle Valve connector broke, ford part number?

    That's how they came to my dealership, they broke it up though and only sold me one.

    Installing master cylinder.

    When I removed the master cylinder I removed the brake booster at the same time. However this time I put the booster on first and am having trouble getting the drivers side bolt tightened. I plan on removing the brake booster again to tighten it down, or at least loosening it, unless someone...

    Throtle Valve connector broke, ford part number?

    That was it, the brass bushing goes in from the top, the throtle valve linkage from the bottom and the hairpin clip holdes it in place. It was about $5 from my dealer, they didn't have it listed as what it is, but it works. This is just a follow-up to let future searchies know that it...

    Clutch Pedel Woe's

    I'm sorry if my posts were confusing: The pedels were MII's but the piviot part for the clutch pedel is from a Bobcat. For the Bobcat pedel system, the clutch pedel assembly bolts to the main assembly, that's the picture I have. I put the MII clutch pedel on this assembly and drilled a couple...

    Clutch Pedel Woe's

    78CobraII, about 5 inches, it's smack dab in the middle of the sump. But I have a front sump pan now, just got to get it cleaned and put on. I thought about moving the firewall back a few inches and moving the engine assembly back. It'll help the weight ratio quite a bit. But that's for...
