    Going to remove my 351w this weekend. I do not have an intake plate. If I buy some 3/8" grade 8 bolts, the ones that fit in the front of the head, will they be strong enough to lift the motor. Thinking of running one chain bolted to the lower front drivers side head across to the lower back...

    The paddock lists mounts that are specific to '67. I ordered them and they are about 1/2 shorter than the ones the parts houses are selling.

    Thanks for the quick reply. These brackets do not look any different than my 67 brackets. Wonder why they are supposed to use different motor mounts? On a side note.. have you seen the powder coating gun Sears sells? Wonder how good that would work?

    The header on the drivers side is hitting the transmission pan. Thats what prompted me to look at the transmission mount and notice the crack in my old mount. I replaced the mount with a new one and discovered that the transmission is off center.

    I just replaced my transmission mount. The whole transmission is sitting off center to the passenger side. Since this is a 351w swap, is it possible that I have the wrong motor mounts, causing the trans not to be centered on the crossmember? I did not do the swap, so I am not sure what mounts...

    Just tried to install the drivers side, the collector hits the transmission pan. I looked at my transmission mount and it appears to have a crack in the rubber. If the transmission mount is bad could that be why the header hits the pan? If not, does anyone have a suggestion on how to remedy...

    Blown head gasket???

    I bet you have an upside down or defective head gasket. If the car is not overheating then what you are hearing in the radiator is exhaust fumes in the cooling system. It may be hard to detect which gasket though.
