    afr/fri/edel vs. supercharged stock longblock

5spd gt, your combination is the one I am highly considering. The 300rwhp, streetable, 20mpg sort of n/a combo ;). Your car, and similar ones (such as Grady's) are inspiration to me. Now im thinking.. would a combo such as yours be acceptable for a pig heavy 94 vert like mine? The last thing Id...

    afr/fri/edel vs. supercharged stock longblock

its such a tough call... I was thinking.. why go through all the trouble to tear the engine down and add all these new parts when I could just bolt on a blower and make more power.. but then I look at it again.. im getting a brand new top end, plus i wont have to force air the stock...

    afr/fri/edel vs. supercharged stock longblock

Thanks for the replys :nice: keep 'em coming so it seems like (in general terms) that... street manners: toss up (depends on tune) gas mileage: toss up (edge to supercharger maybe, but boost = premium fuel) reliability: h/c/i (half the motor is also new after a swap) peak power...

    afr/fri/edel vs. supercharged stock longblock

just like the title says, which of these combos would you pick for a bone stock 5.0 stang? I think they are similarly priced (maybe a bit cheaper for the h/c/i) Here are the goals you are shooting for, dont just pick the one you like the best.. try to pick the one you think will hit the goals...

some horrible news.. just in time for the holidays

 :D GOOD NEWS :) :) :) :nice: The car is going to be fixed under insurance! The total repair costs (parts, labour, paint) were $7,000.. so the car was looking to be written off.. I spent a grueling week conversing with the adjuster and ICBC has decided to fix it. I hunted down reciepts...

To what point can the PCM "retune" itself?

Just like the title says, how good is the PCM at adjusting to modifications. I hear it hates cams, but if I were to do heads, intake, exhaust and bolt ons, would the computer adjust itself to run this combo, or is a tune absolutely necessary? I would like to hold off the tune until I can afford...

o/r midpipe vs. catted midpipe vs. stock midpipe

Grady, you must be a mind reader or something ;) I was actually going to bring up that subject afterwards. I read somewhere that borla highflows (I think it was borla) do not need an air supply. I also read that doing away with the air pump will cause some cats to clog (the stockers at least)...

o/r midpipe vs. catted midpipe vs. stock midpipe

Just the confirmation I was looking for, thanks once again Grady :) My main concern was that I would spend MORE on the catted pipe, and loose SIGNIFICANT performance over the cheaper offroad one (lets be honest, that would be a big screw. .) Also, I wouldnt want to spend a few hundred bucks...

school me on the performer RPM

That would be a good combo too, but although it might seem less expensive it will actually cost me more... let me explain Thumpers E7 heads cost 550 plus shipping both ways (must ship him back the core, aka your old E7 heads). Shipping will make this not feasible, as I live in Vancouver...

o/r midpipe vs. catted midpipe vs. stock midpipe

I think its time Mr. restrictive stock 4-cat and I go our separate ways, but Im undecided on an aftermarket offroad pipe or catted pipe ;) I live in british columbia, and we have something called "aircare" (aka sniffer test ) every few years, so if I went o/r I would have to keep the stocker and...

    gt40X heads.. or gt40P?

Thanks guys, these are all points that I have considered, but its reassuring to hear you guys make the same points :nice: I'm definately going with the Xs, Im looking for 260-280 streetable rwhp, so I think this head is a happy medium between junkyard Ps and high dollar tfs/afr/edels

school me on the performer RPM

I heard somewhere that the performer and performer rpm lowers are identical, is this right? So could a performer plenum and performer rpm plenum be mixed and matched? The reason I am asking about the performer rpm is because I've found a set of gt40x's that I want to purchase, and the seller...

school me on the performer RPM

I have the chance of getting a performer RPM upper and lower, but my car is going to be strictly street (track a few times a year) and a semi-daily driver. Im looking for torque, seat of the pants pull, average power, low end.. yea.. torque is the word :) so Im curious.. would a performer RPM on...

    gt40X heads.. or gt40P?

Thanks for your comments guys, the reason Im comparing gt40Ps to the gt40Xs is because I was planning to use junkyard Ps for my setup, but I was recently offered a set of good condition used Xs for a very resonable price.. sure I could get used Ps for cheaper, but then you can never have the...

    gt40X heads.. or gt40P?

What can you guys tell me about the gt40x aluminums? Ive done some searching but cant come up with concrete info. Would these be ideal for a mild (but torquey) street setup, or would I be better of with gt40P irons? I know trickflows, edelbrocks and afrs are much more advanced than the ford gt40...

some horrible news.. just in time for the holidays

Heres a pic.. it does look much worse than it is but its still devistating for me. For a car that I take so much care of I cant STAND to see it like this. I took the car into the shop today.. guy right away said the car should be fixed and not written off, but then I asked him for a ball park...

some horrible news.. just in time for the holidays

I had already completed the turn, but since there are no witnesses to prove the scenerio it will resort back to traffic laws.. and I had the "stop sign" (even though I had already stopped and nosed up to initiate my turn) Im just fighting to get at least 50% (as opposed to 100%) so that that...

    Lets see your hoods

Due to involuntary circumstances.. :fuss: I have to purchase a new hood. I figure since I have to anyways, why not look into some different styles and maybe kill two birds with one stone. Post up some pics of different hoods on sn95s, lets see what you have.

some horrible news.. just in time for the holidays

hey guys... some bad news:notnice: on thursday my stang was sideswiped by a guy in an '82 chevy 5 ton :nonono: I was on my way to pick up a christmas gift from the guitar store for my friend.. how ironic. the passenger side quarter panel, door, mirror, turn signal, headlight, and fender are...
