    reverse light switch

First, let me say that I have searched on this topic. I am preparing for the t-5 swap. Will it harm the reverse light sensor on the side of the t-5 if I solder wires onto the two posts? I havent been able to find a reverse light harness, or t-5 harness that didnt go for about $50 on ebay...

    We have a mole...

I am not sure if I am disturbed or impressed by this statement. No, wait a minute, disturbed. Definetally disturbed. :(

    We have a mole...

Phil Collins is quite the dapper gentelman. Besides, the $10 he gave me was actually 10 pounds. That's like $18, so now its gonna be a chrome footprint gas pedal. :nice:

    We have a mole...

Some guy gave me $10 to say that I am the mole. I can neither confirm nor deny the identity of said person, however, he was humming that 80's song Sussudio. $10 is enough money to get that footprint gas pedal I have been saving up for, so color me mole.

    Screaming windows

+1 for the dew wipes. Mine drove me crazy! When the windows were wet there was no noise, however when they were dry it sounded like they could wake the dead.

    how to get ground off?

You may want to check other grounds as well. I helped my friend swap out the waterpump out on his 5.0. After we were done, when he turned the lights on all his guages went nuts. After searching for a couple hours, we located the cluprit. It was a ground wire located near the battery.:bang:

    Door Hinge removal

Easiest way is to use a Dremel. You will go through quite a few cutoff wheels, they have a tendency of shattering. Just support the door, cut the pin in half, then push the top half up and out, then the bottom down and out. Do one hinge at a time. Its not hard, just as stated above, a pain.

    starter going bad?

Are there any indications that the starter is going bad other than the car will not crank? I have this weird noise after I start my car. About 3 seconds after the engine has started, there is this rattle (this is the best phrase I can think of). This lasts for about 1-2 seconds and then it is...

Thanks for looking. That is an impressive collection you have there. The question is do you hide them or just leave them lying around.

T5 rebuild, DIY or leave it to the pros?

I am going to get a copy of the video from Hanlon, that way I will know better if it is something that I can do or if I should try to find a rebuilt T5. 71swing, I appreciate the offer. If you can find the video, pm me and we can work something out. Otherwise, I am going to call Hanlon...

T5 rebuild, DIY or leave it to the pros?

Thanks for the info. Who makes this video and where can I get it? Also, are there any hard to find parts that I should go ahead and start looking for? I am planning on a March/April timeframe for the swap, but anything that I can put in the garage to get in my wifes way is well worth it. I...

T5 rebuild, DIY or leave it to the pros?

I have finally decided to ditch the AOD and do the transmission swap. It won't happen till early next year, but I want to go ahead and get all the parts together. I am trying to keep the costs down for the conversion (aren't we all), so I am thinking about finding a previously loved T5 and...

    Automatic/Manual, with or w/o AC

I didn't think that there would be much of a difference, if any. That being said, there are different part numbers for the different transmission, ac, and bodystyle (coupe, hatch, convertable) combinations.

    Automatic/Manual, with or w/o AC

I installed the FMS B springs about a year ago. The front sits WAY too low for my tastes. I have decided to put some stock ride height replacement coil springs in the front and keep the B springs in the rear. My question is that when I look on the websites (autozone, advance...) the springs...
