    Dyno session this Saturday

I just found out that I have a shop literally 3 miles from my house with a Dynojet 248c. Since the majority of the work on my car was done by the previous owner I thought it would be worth the $80 for 3 pulls with A/F ratios. I'm not expecting any huge numbers, it's more to just get a baseline...

    Oil pan gasket leak

Sorry 5.0Droptop I missed your post. Thanks for your input. Looks like pulling the engine might be the only practical solution.

    Oil pan gasket leak

Wow, what a post. Sorry for taking this bit by bit, but your post raised a number of questions. It sounds like you jacked the engine up high enough to completely remove the pan, correct? The problem I face with jacking up the engine is my mechanical skill level. A/C lines though the fire...

    Problem removing bellhousing

Bell housing off, thanks for the help everyone. But just to answer everyone's questions, yup, replacing the clutch. Also installing a new rear mail seal, pilot bearing, TO bearing, fork, clutch cable, steel bearing retainer for the T5, and a new aluminum flywheel. Now on to my next issue...

    Oil pan gasket leak

I'm in the process of installing a new clutch and was cleaning off the rear of the engine when I noticed the oil pan gasket leaking. I'll be changing out the rear mail seal as part of the clutch install, but is the oil pan gasket something I need to fix as well or is it fine as it is? Losing a...

    Problem removing bellhousing

Yeah, the starter is off. After 30 minutes persuasion with a rubber mallet I think I've got it about halfway off. Thanks for confirming those are the dowel; I probably have no business taking my car apart like I am. lol

    Problem removing bellhousing

For some reason I can't get the bellhousing off the engine block. It's a 1993 5.0 with a T5. All the bolts are removed, front and back of the bellhousing. Chilton's says there are two dowels on each side of the bell housing, that's all that's left. I've marked the dowels in red on the photos...

    Entire exhaust system welded

This crossed my mind but I wasn't sure if it could be done. Definitely the easiest way to go but I'd hate to cut into anything. It looks so nice and clean right now I'd hate to Frankenstein it up.

    Entire exhaust system welded

What are my options? I need to replace the clutch on the coupe I recently purchased but the entire exhaust system is welded together. And I mean everything. BBK LT headers are welded to the catted H-pipe, extension between the H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers are welded, the pieces over the...

Arrrghh, another issue with clutch install

Thanks for the input everyone and the kind words about my new ride. I've got to dig 100 post holes for my new fence this weekend so I'll start cutting the next. Thanks again.

Arrrghh, another issue with clutch install

So I get the car up on jack stands last night so I can install my new clutch and had to stop after about 10 minutes. It turns out the steel tubing for the smog pump running from the cats up into the engine bay is welded so it forms a single tube. That raises two problems: (1) I don’t have the...

    347 Stroker, sound reasonable?

I'm trying to decide on project so I can put together a budget and start saving. This sounds pretty close to the performance I'm looking for and was curious as to everyone's opinions on whether what this guy said was reasonable. He's banned so I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts. 347...

Clutch install with long tube headers

Long story short, I just bought a 1993 LX 5.0 SSP last weekend knowing it needed its clutch replaced. I also knew it had BBK LT headers. I did not know it is a PITA it is to drop the T5 with LT headers in the way. Changing the clutch out isn't a problem, I'm comfortable with that project and...

    SN-95 SSP?

I can't say I ever recall seeing a 94-95 SSP, but the Kansas Highway Patrol did use 96-98 models for a few years. I'm sure there was an agency somewhere that used them.
