I have an engine here in my garage that I bolted a set of heads on. The engine was never finished being built and has never been run.
I decided I want to keep the heads from it for another car I just bought.
Can I reuse the head gaskets from the engine that was never run ?
I know this is EXTREMELY SUBJECTIVE, but given "normal" wear/tear/maintaince...
How many miles can a stock 5.0 shortblock go before needing rebuilt ??
I'm looking at a nice 90 LX that has 174k miles and is in VGC. No engine noises or smoking (yet).
Advise ?

I'm converting my 89 5.0 EFI to a 347 Stroker Carbd.
I know I need to do away with the EFI pump and small 5/16" fuel line. I don't feel like spending $2-300 on a system when I know it can be done for 1/2 that. :?
I'm leaning towards a Holley Blue pump/regulator combo, but I'm not certain...
Is it possible to use (2) Fuel Regulators to decrease fuel pressure if I were to keep my OEM EFI fuel pump ??
In another words ..... Use a high pressure regulator (set to the lowest psi) and then a low pressure regulator to dial the psi in at 7psi ?
Ok, I'm going to a carb'd 347 Stroker in my 89 Mustang. Estimated 375HP.
Can someone point me to info on Fuel volume requirements, fuel pump and line sizing ??

I'm looking for a "new" Cam/Lifter/Spring combo for my 347 Stroker build up. It's a 78 Block so Rollers are out. :(
I would really like to get a Solid Cam/Lifter setup, but my buddy says I'd be under the hood all the time adjusting the valves.
What's the scoop on the maintenaince schedule on...
I'm converting an EFI 89 Mustang over to a carb setup. I know the "best" way to convert the fuel pump system is to remove the EFI in-tank pump and use a sump type setup.
I've heard of several folks that kept the EFI pump and simply regulated the pressure down to carb'd #s (6 - 8 lbs or so)...
