    Just put my new engine about a week ago and so far it has about 100-150 miles on it. I am not sure when I am suppose to change the oil again. I have heard 10 miles, 100 miles, 500 miles.

    that exact thing was happening to me a few days ago. I found out that it was because of my high idle. All I did was lower the idle and it was fine. I had also put in a new 302.

    just fixed it. All it was was that frickin idle positioner screw thing. I guess taht $60 IAC was a waste. But I also got it smogged (barely).

    Now it seems to be a definite surge in the idle. I pulled the codes with the engine on and got 94, 44, 13.

    Now on the code reader arnt the little pins in different positions than that connector?? So the fuel pump doesnt line up.

    Is it just me or does the code reader connector seem screwed up?? I looked at the connector from in the engine and it looks like 3 wires go to 3 of the little filaments. But on the code reader, the filaments that come out of that do not connect up to the ones on the connector in the engine...

    do I have to fix all my codes before I can do a cylinder test? and my engine was running so ****ty before I put the new engine in I couldnt even tell how the injectors were working. I basically had a chunk missing in one of my heads.

    I am thinking about going to the junkyard tomorrow to get an alternator. What cars will have a 3G alternator? What else should I get from a car that has a 3G? Just cut the wires someplace?

    My idle reads from 1200-1500rpm which seems a little high to me. It seems like it just started doing this. It is not surging or anything. Just a high idle. How do I lower it?

    thats some great info but my surging idle actually has somewhat gone away. The main problem is the jerky driving.
