    I got the heads from Williams Salvage on Shepard... this was the last pair though. Their number is 713-691-2015. I plan on using the stock HO cam so will it even be necesarry to upgrade the springs? How much does port work typically cost?

    the flywheel is new and i aligned the clutch using the tool and the alignment dowels in the flywheel. Something i forgot to mention is that when putting the bellhousing on, i had to use a rubber hammer and tap it with some force in order for it to line up properly with the dowels in the engine...

    the clutch is king cobra 10.5 in.... it worked fine when i used the 95 bellhousing however with this one the pressure plate hits on the inside. Is it possible the pressure plate is on wrong?     i understand a rebuild is most likely the answer to this problem however is it possible for only 3rd and 4th gear to grind because of an improperly adjusted clutch? keep in mind the rest of the gears shift fine and it is only with these two that i have to wait for the rpm's to reach the right...

    yea the fluid is good... from what i've read 3rd and 4th gear share the same synchronizer so maybe it wouldnt be too expensive and not that much trouble to change it. Anyone with transmission rebuilding experience have any ideas??

    figured out the problem...yes the 86 could have meant 98 mustang however it is a T5 bellhousing...someone mistaked a 94 mustang for a 98 at the yard. Now i had to get a different starter and use the proper clutch fork. problem solved
