    at any given time there are some probe pistons on ebay with the ring lands broken off a piston or two. given, i dont know what they did to the engine to break it, but i still dont like the idea of those piston specs on a STREET engine. for a drag car, who cares, but not a street car wanting...

    i have run 265/50/15's on my 10 holes on my 86 gt for years. they fit fine. there is a polished spot on the lower control arm where they rub slightly at full lock, but its not even enough to hear or feel. mine at dunlop gt qualifiers

    there are multiple 347 kits to choose from, what are your inputs? I hear that only the CHP kit eliminates oil usage problems from the oil rings and piston pins intersecting, but i always see people selling a used set of 7 pistons from Probe (CHP's brand) because they broke an upper ring land...

    390 in a fox

    why a 390? you're hampering yourself with 40 year old 'technology', and then further hampering yourself with the 390 block itself. if you simply want the uniqueness of an FE series engine, why not get the power of the 428? stroking a 351w to a 383/393 would be less cost and hassle still....

    will a 351 fit under a stock 86 hood?

    does anyone know if a 351 wearing a lightning lower intake and an explorer upper will fit under a stock 86 hood? I do NOT like cowl hoods and this will determine if the future stroker will be 302 or 351 based. I have both engines in the garage waiting to be picked from.

    one of the last things to do to the 5.0 HO install in the ranger is the fuel system. how much pressure do i need out of an aftermarket inline electric fuel pump? the factory one for the donor car is listed at 65psi (91 cougar xr-7), other 5.0 cars are listed as low as 40-45. how much is enough...

    Let's talk Oil and etc....

    i had a 97 escort go 255,000 using valvoline maxlife. it only died at that point because a valve seat fell out and grenaded the head and one piston. no oil leaks ever, no oil usage, no nothin'! i replaced the motor and continued to use that oil. i sold it to a buddy and he is still driving it
