there are multiple 347 kits to choose from, what are your inputs? I hear that only the CHP kit eliminates oil usage problems from the oil rings and piston pins intersecting, but i always see people selling a used set of 7 pistons from Probe (CHP's brand) because they broke an upper ring land. Has anyone had any issues with CHP's pistons, or were these guys overdoing the supercharging and just detonating them?

what about the scat, or even eagle, kits that summit sells? does the scat kit have oil-usage prone piston problems?

or would i be better off just putting in a rebuilt 351w with a decent set of pistons? I have both setups in the garage anyway...

its a tremec 5 speed 86 GT vert with 3.90 gears

I know from experience that that CHP street fighter kit is good (Probe rods & Pistons, Scat crank) - 4 yrs, 20K miles & 125 shot. Not one problem at all. So far the kit from DSS has been pretty good as well (Eagle forged internals).

Eagle is all we use and I got guys i race with that are puttin out at least 500 hp on motor alone get the forged steal crank, H beam rods, and forged aluminum pistons then your ready for anything. Do it right the first time. it cost alot more doin it twice. Im buildin a 351 windsor that im havin stroked to 408 and its gettin Eage forged set up.
If you saw the way we abuse this stuff with nitrous. some of my guys i race with biggest problem is how do ya get it out of the bottle faster
