I can't believe how many people who have driven my car and thought they were beating on it weren't running the RPMs all the way to redline before shifting.

I thought that was a given, but it really is important. Especially on the 4.6L which thrives on the higher RPMs.

Obviously I wasn't doing the shifts, rpm's and clutch correct. My apologies for not being a stuntdriver like a couple of the people who posted and wasting the same mulletheads' time reading the post. Check the subject line next time and if you think it sounds like a waste, don't open and read.

Thanks again to the rest of you for the helpful tips. It definitely helped me out.

honestly, all of what these guys advice about launching is true, but is only really important at the track.

your problem is not launch, its that the gt just starts making its power at 3000rpm-5000rpm. you atr not using all of the cars hp, you are shifting way to soon.
just an example, but if the engine is rated at 260 hp from ford you are only using like 200 at 4000 rpm.

stomp that pedel

Oh yeah, I suddenly didn't take offense to those peoples advise telling me that my shifting is wrong, because it is. I just didn't appreciate a few of the posts which seemed a little arrogant (laughing at my rpm's and telling me that I was wasting their time).

The rest (95%) of the posts were great though .. I'll stomp on the pedal!

I shift closer to 6000.When you shift, your rpms drop if you aren't powershifting. If you rev higher, it's easier to be in the power when you hit the next gear.In all actuality though, the 60ft time is what's important. If you spin badly, you're beat.Good luck on better times.
