00" Gt to V6 auto.tranny. 4R70W swapp

Hi everyone.

I have a 2000 V6 automatic with no motor mods. My trany is going out and i wanted to beef it up a bid. I have been looking all over but cant seem to find a streight forward answer. Will a GT automaic 4R70W tranny swap dirrectly into the V6? ive read the bell housing bolt patters are different only to read again that they are the same Does anyone knw what all is needed and can it be done? Im looking to put to put some heavy mods and im sure the AOD tranny from the V6 wont be able to handle it for very long since i will be taking it to the strip. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
