01-04 Radio Bezel In A 99 & Fog Light Switch Question

I have a 99 mustang and have replaced the stock center console with one from an 01-04. My next project is I want to replace the radio and shifter bezel from a mach 1 for the silver to match the silver on my door insert and seats. I know to use the new bezel i'll have to replace the radio and go double din and saw off the tabs with new wiring harness adapter. I seen different opinions on what adapters to use, as I want to use the stock head unit from an 04 mustang. I also want to use the buttons under the radio for my fog light switch. However, I'm pretty sure the plug in the back of the round switch under the radio is different than that of the one currently on my car. Has anyone had any experience with this?
