What do you guys think of these times for my swapper?

One of the last runs of the day. It was pretty humid and muggy when we went.

60'ft 2.054
1/8 ET 8.468
MPH 106.84
1/4 ET 13.031

That was the best ET of the day. Best 60' was a 1.971 and best MPH was 107.82.

Basically a bolt on NA car, with a tubular D&D front, and SCT tune.
Full list of mods can be found on My Site

The car still has 3.73s and stock rear suspension. I have upper, lowers, axles, diff, and an air bag to install. Along with some 50/50's.

Any suggestions on how to make the power work for me? :)

One bad DIS4 firing only 6 cylinders.

Took a lot longer than it should have because of automatic tranny problems. Now it's a manual.

Dyno'd 328 HP & 321 TQ SAE

how many miles did you have on that motor??? O yea i floored the other day and i had a lot of white smoke come out of the right pipe. Have you seen anything like that on yours. I still haven't tuned it so i don't know whats up. O yea do you have a coolant problem?

No problems here.....

Blows little to no smoke. The very little is does is not white. haven't had any problems with cooling either.

So far the motor has roughly 1200 miles... it was brand new off the crate.

I have a coolant light coming on and off all the time. Do you have any pics of your coolant piping because my looks kind of funny.

Do you have a water coolant gauge because i need to see if my car is over heating or not.

Did you tune your car with the tweecer or have a chip burned? Sorry that i'm asking you all these questions i don't run into to many people that have done these swap in chicago.

It's alright....

Did you fill your coolant at the crossover tube? These motors are a PITA to fill. They tend to get a lot of air pockets. Fill it at the crossover tube then in the overflow tank. Start the car and let it warm up, turn the heat on let it work it's way through the system. Shut down and top off. Some people leave the radiator cap off to help the air escape. I've never done it that way and mines fine.

I have a guage and did the manual fan switch mod. Car never really goes over 190-195 when really getting on it. With the fan on it will drop to around 185 and never budge. I found it actually runs better hot. :)

The car was tuned by SCT at a custom tune session by Jerry & Company. They were all over here in CT for a 3 day event we put on. You're definatly going to need a tune if you're not using the Cobra computer.

Where did you hook up your water guage because i can't find a place. I mean i found a place but i'm not sure if it will work. Do you have the part number of the guage and sending unit?

I have the 96 GT computer. People say i need a tune but how much will that tune help. I ran my friends WS6 on the high way and i pulled on him and could have kept going. He runs a 13.2 so i really don't know if my car is running all that bad.

I'll try that thing you told me about the heating. O yea my heat got so hot that it melted the middle vents. So yea i'm having heatin problems.

I'm going to buy the tweecer to tune the car. I don't trust any place after the Dealer. I'm just going to tune the car with a labtop as i'm driving.

I took the crossover tube to a machine shop and had them weld on a bung for both the aftermarket gauge and the extra temp sensor for the computer. Maybe you don't have that one hooked up.

You'll need a tune. I went the same route as you. Stock computer. The car will run with the computer but it will not even be close to max performance. Call up the guys from SCT. They should be able to nail your tune through mail order.

There are pictures of my crossover tube on my website, follow the link in my sig. :)

As long as it has cat's here in CT it will pass. We have the OBDII system. They plug in, if you don't throw any codes and you pass a visual there is no sniffer test.

If you fail the OBDII scan you have to turn the rollers.

My car now throws no codes after the tune. Before I threw about 12-15 no BS. Half were tranny related and EGR BS. :)
