a JLT True CAI is an intake. replaces the stock crappy one with a bigger, straighter design. www.jlttruecoldair.com

as for your bassani x pipe, you can get one with cats on it but that piece actually replaces your stock "mid pipe" which is what your cats are actually on. i suggest going to the 4.6L tech forum and doing some searches on those things, there is a ton of info out there on both topics. good luck!! :)

Hey Z. I bought an '01 Cobra Convertible exactly a year ago. First Mod was a Pro 5.0 shifter, an absolute must. I'm an old fart so power wasn't the primary motivation on mod decisions. Eibach ProKit and 18" wheels came next, they really set off the stance and overall appearance (picture should show up in My Garage) of the car compared to the rear-wheel-sunken-in high 4 X 4 stock look. This past week I put on a catted Bassani x-pipe and a Bassani catback, now the car truly sounds as good as it looks, I was also surprised at the added kick in the pants the exhaust system gave along with the K&N drop-in air filter. These mods are all I'll probably go with. The other guys were right though, 4:10 or 4:30 gears would be a great mod that would not affect reliability. Good Luck.....Mark.
