01 Surgeing during acceleration

My 01 3.8 has started to surge as i accelerate (mostly from 2k-3k rpm). It usualy only does this when im driving normaly. If i get on it it rarely surges. I replaced the fuel filter and it helped but it still does it. Anyone know anything else i could try? I was thinking replaceing the coil pack, spark plugs and spark plug wires maybe? Thanks

+1 on spark plugs.

Clean the MAF. Use only a cleaner designed for the job. No brake clean. No carb/choke cleaner.

Check all of the vacuum lines. Esp the ones to/from the EGR DPFE sensor.

Thank you! i sprayed the MAF down with cleaner and it runs beautifuly. I never would have thought of that. Thanks for the help and saving me $250

+1 on the MAF sensor, they sell a spray cleaner at advanced that worked real good on mine. Also had to replace my cam positioning sensor (like $27 and 5 minutes labor). Did them both at the same time because they were both throwing codes when I had it checked (at Advanced for free) so I'm really not sure which one was boggign me down although I think it was the latter.
