02 sensor question

I'm not aware of a way to incorrectly install an O2 sensor. They only plug into the harness one way and have openings all the way around the portion that installs into the exhaust pipe.

That said, Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that houses the #1 cylinder. On Ford engines, that would be the passenger side. Bank 2 refers to the other side.

O2 sensor codes will read something like Bank 1 Sensor 1 (or 2). Sensor 1 refers to the upstream O2 sensors which are the closest to the engine. Sensor 2 refers to the downstream sensors (after the cats).

Bank 1 Sensor 1 = passenger side front (upstream) sensor
Bank 1 Sensor 2 = passenger side rear (downstream) sensor
Bank 2 Sensor 1 = driver side front
Bank 2 Sensor 2 = driver side rear

Inline engines do not refer to bank 2.

Just remember that GM has the #1 cylinder on the driver's side.

im getting codes
p0141 on bank 1 sensor 2
p0156 bank 2 sensor 2
p0161 bank 2 sensor 2

would any of these codes affect the engine at all. im having a hesitation problem and im not leaking anywhere on the exhaust. i installed an O/R x-pipe and EL shorties and i cant figure out whats going on. i checked the coil packs and they are working great. maybe its time to change spark plugs? i dont know i need help here.

the codes are for your downstream O2 sensors. you also mentioned you just installed an off road midpipe. the only thing the rear O2 sensors do is make sure the cats are doing their job, which you no longer have. without looking up what the codes actually are (i'm assuming high or low voltage), i'm wondering if you installed MIL eliminators? as far as stumbling goes, you just installed headers and a midpipe, freeing up alot of air. try resetting your computer (pulling the negative cable on the battery and waiting for a bit is the easiest way) and fire her back up. rear O2s shouldn't cause any driveability issues, only emissions issues, which is why the light came on and code got thrown. somebody feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

i tried mils but they were no good. i have to get a hold of a tuner that turns them off since the new scts dont do it. ill try resetting the car see if that does anything my next step is new plugs then i dont know what else to do
