I just bought a 02 V6 and I want a true dual exhaust, there is also a slight manifold leak from a gasket so I thought I might as well get new headers too.

For headers I'm looking at BBK shorty's : http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-shorty-headers-9904v6.html
Mid pipes : Pypes catted xpipes: http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-9604-v6-cattedxpipe.html
Catback - Pype bomb GT catbacks : http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-bomb-catback-9804gt.html

And yes because of the new mid pipes it does say to get a GT catback.

And also a SR cold air intake : http://www.americanmuscle.com/muv6coairins.html

So I talked to an expert of americanmuscle about if the system should work well together and if I needed a tune, he told me a tune would be recommended to get the real benefits of the mods I just put on. So he sends me a Bama tune which is $375, what should be my point of attack.

I wouldn't think the tune would be necessary but you may get a little more power out of the setup. As far as going at it, bolt on the exhaust, check for leaks, put on your cold air, check for leaks, then install your tune. All thats left is to drive the thing.

Note of caution: I don't know how well that GT cat back will play with the V6 Mustang rear bumper. Might need to switch bumper covers to one with cut outs for rear exit dual exhaust.

What he said.

The GT rear bumper has cutouts for the tips. If you put the cat-back on your car, the tips will hit, and burn your bumper. It is possible to get longer rubber hangers and have a shop cut and reweld the exhaust so the tips come out under the bumper. IMHO it doesn't really look all that great this way though.

But it is something you'll need to plan for because having the tips hit the V6 bumper will cause it to burn/melt.

Also, I don't really think you need a tune at this point. Couldn't hurt, but I would prefer to do a custom dyno tune with other mods, vs an off the shelf tune.
