After doing my engine work and swapping for aluminum heads, removing smog junk, removing STB the front of the car now sits about a 1/2" higher than it used to. The stock ride height didn't bother me but the way it sits now (higher in the front) does. The bigger problem is that because the car sits higher the outside edge of the front tires is wearing badly.

Instead of taking it to try to get an allignment I'm looking at spring options for only the front of the car. I don't care for the harsh ride of most lowered cars, so if I could find something that dropped the front 1/2" (back to stock) - 3/4" (just slightly more) I'd be happy. By first thought was of the Ford "C" springs and just using the fronts. Then I remembered my last Mustang, a 03 Cobra, and how stock it sat just a bit lower than a GT. I have a friend who used to have a couple 03 Cobra's himself and he had swapped out for different springs on both of them. So, I know he has his stock springs just sitting in his attic.

Does anyone know if the front prings off a 03 Cobra coupe would work well with a 95 GT convertible? Would they give me the drop I'm looking for? Or would the "C" springs be the better option?

I don't really know if the 03 Cobra springs would drop your car at all. The 4.6 DOHC is a heavy beast in them (cast iron block in the 03-04), so you may end up with the same issue. If your friend will let you try them out for free, I'd definitely give it a shot, but maybe a set of Bullitt springs would be a better choice since they do lower your car something like 1" IIRC.

I would say C-springs (I am partial though) and remove the isolators if you need more drop...

I used the same springs when I put on my 03 control arms, and didn't have any problems. Ride height is the same as stock on mine. Are you sure the springs are 'clocked' into the spring pockets right? If the last coil isn't placed in the right orientation, it will make the spring taller by one coil (roughly 3/8" to 1/2"). Hopefully it's something small like that and you can fix it without having to buy a set of springs. Good luck!

+1.........Iron 4.6L 03 Cobra motors weight much more than your stock 5.0L, and you have lightened it up even more!!

Ughh if you want a nice ride DONT get the C-Springs. I rode in my friends 04 with the C springs and I felt like I was in a small hurricane or something. Progressive rate FTW.
