I would think if the PCM were bad you'd see a CEL.

If you have been following the story i just rebuilt the engine .it has now 218000 miles.i do all my own work and im a 45yr old pothead not a computer geek.i believe i said it feels like not thiers water under the cap.anyway found the cam gear broke.a trained tech at a machine shop did the head work.i do think it was a freak thing for it to break.i didnt recheck thier work.my bad i guess

I wondered if something in that head you replaced had let go. Will the tech who assembled it handle fixing it on their own dime?
