As far as I know, Cervini's has a two piece speedster cover that is designed to fit in your trunk. They have it mounted on their in house Cobra that the owner drives, along with all their other bolt-on baubles.
As far as fit, I don't see why the covers don't fit your car. There is no difference in your 'vert to a V6 or GT. Ford went to their new style of tonneau cover for the '01 model year, which I believe is also the year that they changed power top suppliers. I put the tonneau from my '99 Cobra on my '03 and it fits up to a point. They changed how the cover attaches, having the cover tuck under the moulding and going to snaps in the front. The trim is the same all of the way around, though, basically the same since '94. I believe that only the plastic area where the cover snaps down these days is slightly changed due to different top manufacturers.
I also believe that the top sticks up a little higher when down than with the older supplier's tops, but it could be just mine.
One thing about the '01 and up tonneaus. They suck. They look real good when new, but they eventually break down on the folds. That is when you get those Pike's Peak-like areas on each side of the front lip and the top doesn't want to stay down. If it gets bent even slightly in the wrong direction, it breaks down and is basically useless. I see this in the showrooms all of the time. The newer ones fold opposite of the pre-'01 covers. If you fold it backwards one time, it is ruined. Once it breaks, it gets all floppy and loses it's tension. Time for a new one.
I have complained to Ford about this problem. I am on my fourth cover and I treat mine with kid gloves, even leaving my top down overnight in the garage just so I don't have to handle it so often. No matter, they still break down.
I would like to find a hard cover that doesn't prevent the use of my back seats for when I go on vacation and whatever.
Oh, well.
