Hey guys, I asked about this a long while ago and couldn't find the original thread--- anyways...
I was wondering, the only difference between the two instrument clusters is the 03's Boost Gauge is where 01's Battery Gauge is(aside from the SVT logo and indiglo)
Would it matter to do the swap and just leave the battery connections hanging, or would there be some MacGyver action that could be done to make the boost gauge act as the battery gauge?

One last thing, does the mileage stay with the car, or with the cluster?

Thanks

Guage cluster/PATS info

hey

just wanted to explain, the mileage does stay with the guage cluster because its stored in the PATS computer which is part of the guage cluster and is what the chipped ignition key sends a signal to when you key on your ignition. As far as the 03-04 Boost guage, its vaccum actuated, so you cant use it as a voltmeter at all, on a supercharged cobra I believe theres a vaccum line that goes to the intake manifold to read boost pressure

Additional point to make about PATS and clusters

Hey

forgot to mention, some people have swapped the circut board with their PATS computer onto a new guage cluster thus retaining the original mileage (and also saving themselves a trip to the dealership to get the PATS reprogramed to their keys) usually it is with similar clusters like a standard mustang GT to a Mach 1's or Bullitt cluster, it might be possible to do it with your 01's cluster circut board to the 03's guages, but of course you will need to use a aftermarket voltmeter then........

hope that helps

Or I could just find the difference between my original miles and the miles coming with the cluster and just keep track of mileage that way. Obviously if my car was 5K less miles, I just subtract 5K from whatever the hell the cluster says as I go along.

Thanks for the help guys
