I just got an 04 Mach 1 column for the SN interior swap in my 88 Thunderbird. Problem is I found out there were no keys included. I was told to just swap in my stock tumbler, but now I'm reading that you can't get the tumbler out with no key without risking damage to the column. What can I do? Is there a safe way to get it out? Is there a number on there I can use to get a key cut? If so, can I use this key without PATS? That was the plan with swapping in my old tumbler.

it will be really hard to get out with no key. i'm not sure if you can get a key made to fit it. maybe take it to a mechanic that has a set of pick keys and they can get it out for you. thats what i did on my ranger a few years back

Ok, all the locksmiths in San Diego want $140-$200 to make a key or pull the tumbler. I'd be better off going to the JY and getting another column with keys!! So I'm just gona try to yank it. What's the best way to do it?

i'd just drill out the ball on the bottom that holds it in. that may let it slide out

I actually had to drill the entire center out!! I stepped up to progressively larger bits until the entire thing busted out. Then I could push the pin slide it out! Thanks
