Are the seats the same between the V6 and V8 cars?

A bunch of classic owners are swapping out the crappy 60s seats for SN95 ones and I absolutely LOVE my cloth 05-GT ones. I am hoping I can find a set either in a wrecked car or from someone who put upgraded seats into their car. I just need to know if I can consider the V6 versions or not.

Maybe you should just go to the local dealer and take a V6 for a ride, if they are comfy, then you can consider them.

I do not think there is a difference between the V6 and GT seats, it would just be more expensive for Ford to make.

Some have airbags built into the side of the seats, some do not. Some models have a power driver's seat, some do not. I believe these are the only differences as far as seats go.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I found a set for $175; V8, cloth, power driver, non-power passenger. Now I just gotta see if the bolt pattern has changed, the 65-2004 are interchangeable. Henry would be proud!

Not really. My 01s were not interchangeable. I had to fab up a spacer/adapter to properly mount them in the 66.

CHIT!

So at some point within the SN95 models they changed? From what I've been told the 97/98 seats bolt right in. How complex of a deal was the adapter and did it raise the seat height?

Seems like the Premium V6 has the same seats as all the V8 cars. But yes, some have airbags.

I coulda swore Blake told me it was around 97-98 when they changed.
The 01 seat bottoms are not flat, and they are not the same on the drivers side as they are on the passenger side. I had to make some funky adaptes to mount the 66 frames on them. The seats do sit nice and flat (I'm 6'1" and with my helmet 6'6"+)

here's something to consider... look at your 2005 seats... the passenger seat sits a little lower than the driver seat... not too noticeable in the 2005, but in a 60's Mustang it might look odd...
