I have a Magnaflow axleback on my 07 (not the "bullet" type, the full muffler types) and it sounds extremely good when I get on it, and just a little louder at idle then stock. But there is absolutley NO drone.

I don't think drone has ever really bothered me. Don't get me wrong, I have the cervini side exit exhaust with magnaflo's /I have drone, but I don't care for some reason..

I will admit it's not my daily driver, so it could have something to do with it..

I have stock 3.55s for now, but will be going to the 4.10s in a month or so. I haven't noticed any drone on the highway. My '00 GT with the Flows droned WAY more than my '06 does!!!!! The only time I mind the drone is while trying to talk to a passenger.

<---not regretting a penny spent on the Flows!!!!!

what is this drone problem?

Does the Mac a/b really make so much unwanted noise or is it that you don't want to hear anything until you step on it? Personally, I'd love to ride around with headers and turn downs-heck with the stereo. This is a confusing issue. I am still stock but I'm getting ready to get some mufflers. Does it drone so bad you get headaches, can't talk, vibrate stuff loose, make helicopter sounds? This doesn't necessarily apply to just Macs, just this droning issue in general. I like hearing the engine myself. If i wanted no noise I would have bought a luxury car. This is a muscle car.

I agree.
I'm confused as well... Watch this video "Clarkson: Roush Stage 3 vs Shelby GT500"; it's on StangNet's home page. A Mustang is a Muscle Car; it's suppose to be LOUD. If I wanted a quiet car, I would have gotten a Luxury Car. I've been through Stock Mufflers, Magnaflow Mufflers, Flowmaster Mufflers, and I now own Bassani Mufflers (my personal favorite). Magnaflows have the least drone out of all of those that I mentioned above. The Bassani's are LOUD and sound AWESOME!!! I love the Bassani's!!! If you're looking for a nice sound with little to NO drone, Magnaflow is the way to go.

The same thing happened to me, except I didn't wait a week to remove those pieces of *$#@#. I really should have read some of the forums before investing in them. I keep hearing that the only ones that do not produce cabin drone are the Corsa Axlebacks....

I feel your pain! Same thing happened to me...except I paid $300. They look pretty cool, all shiny, and nice tips, but I have no doubt that it will shake the inside of the car apart.

They do make that much unwanted noise. Don't get me wrong...I love noise. I've had loud Harleys, loud cars, but this is not pleasant. I could feel all the plastic, knobs, seat, mirrors, and etc. shake. I have no doubt that with time things will start coming loose. From the outside it sounded great. Nice throaty rumble and even better when you step on the gas. Now, in a certain RPM range it will feel so bad that I couldn't concentrate on driving. I had to downshift and keep it out of that range...that kills the joy of driving. MAC simply did not design the muffler for '05 and later Mustangs. It must have something to do with the design and the location of the mufflers.

I've been in touch with someone from MAC and they appear to be unaware of this problem. If everyone seems to be having an issue and they feel that they didn't get what they paid for, I suggest contacting MAC. They tried to fix my problem by trying to sell me a set of resonators for an extra $100. That really chaps my hide. They should put out a good product to begin with.

IMO there is music and there is noise. Music = Nice throaty sound that cylinders make while they are exploading, a certain rythim that mechanical object make. Noise = Is self explanatory, junk that is uncontrollabe that you try to filter out, anoying, or a poor excuse for when one fails to make music.

A proper set of mufflers will flow and make music...not noise! The cabin should be filled with nice muscle tone, not anoying vibrations that the manufacturer failed to control.

I have not noticed any parts vibrating due to the little bit of drone the Flows put out. The Flows are music to my ears...even better music during nice weather when I can put the windows down!!!!!

I'm still trying to decide between Corsa and Flows. From other members feedback, it appears that Corsa do not have cabin drone at all.

If you get the Flows, let me know how it goes.

I will be adding an O/R H to mine soon because of that. Thanks Big Cat for your opinion not that long ago on your setup.
