I just bought a 07 gt and it has springs already installed. My question is will a 20" wheel fit without rubbing? The front tire is almost tucked with the factory 17s. I dont want to buy wheels and then take them off cause they rub.

i guess the real question is do you REALLY want 20s, springs are fairly easy to change as opposed to buying a set of 20 inch wheels and wondering if they will fit or not. kinda hard to say w/o knowing how much of a drop you have already with the existing springs.

I'm gonna say....yes. Guy I work with has 20's and Eibach's rubs like crazy. He bought the car that way. He's got 18's on order.

You can get away with 19's. Mine is lowered 1.75" in the front and 2" in the rear and they don't rub. Even with 295/35/19 KDW's in the rear. Mind you, I have an adjustable pan hard bar to correct the shift in the axle when it was lowered. If not for the bar the driver's side would rub.

Here's a couple pics.

As long as the 20" tires are near the same size(height and width)as the 17 or 18" they will not rub.

I really want the 20's cause I like how they fill the wheel well; and I figured I would lower it. But know seeing it lowered I dont think a 20 would fit. Does anyone have more pics of 18's lowered?

I like the way the 20's look so I guess I will change the springs. What springs do you use or do you go with stock for 20's.

LawlessJay,

I've got Ford "K" springs on my Mustang GT. They dropped it a solid 1.5" all way around.

I've got Nitto 255/35/20 555R on American Muscle 8.5" DD Bullit rims and no rubbing what so ever.

Here's nite time pic

Thanks, Dewman

I have the FRPP package #2 installed w/20" Razors and I've had no issues with rubbing to date (to date only being about 1500 miles however...).

'My garage' has a few pics in there - not really close up - but hopefully it helps a bit.
