The other night my girlfriend and myself were on are why too get some dinner, we were at a light and there was a silver car next too me. I didn't think much of it and my girlfriend loves the sound of my car so I usually go WOT a few times when she is with me (ok I go WOT a lot). So the light turns green and this car next too me takes off the same time I do. He ended up getting a better start. I had over drive on ( I always turn it off when I want to have fun). He got a half a car head on me on the start. I started to pull on him and passed him and ended up being about a car length ahead. Then I saw that it was a new Nissian Altima SE when he passed later on. I looked them on line and those cars come with 270hp or 250hp if it was an 06. I was surprised that I even beat him when I found out how much power they put out.

Cars are faster now than they ever were. Forget the 60's. I don't even want to try and race my car until it is capable of at least low 13's, high 12's would be better. You gotta make sure you can catch those STi's, Evo's, Stage 2/3 SRT-4's, and '05+ GT's. R&T lists the Altima SE-R at 14.5, and electronical limited to 150mph. My 14.1 isn't enough buffer. Time for boost.

yep

Yep, Nissans 4 door sedans for the past 5-6 years are pretty peppy.

I picked up a Maxima that was a few years old for the wife. Very nice cars, 255hp, heated leather seats, very quiet ride, not bad on gas, and pretty damn fast. Those new Altimas look pretty nice too.

There are plenty of 14 second "commuter cars" these days.

The difference in a 14.1 second Mustang and a 14.7 second altima/maxima is not much. In a race from 0-100MPH it's about 6 carlenghts give or take, so a sprint to 60 may be around 3 or 4 carlenghts. That's just hanging with you. Hesitate on the launch or botch a shift and that car is right next to you.
