1 3/4 3inch collectors TOO MUCH?

well with the explorer motor I got a chance to run 1 3/4 mac longtubes and a 3inch exhaust.. because its about 300 bucks cheaper...

I got a chance to get these longtubes for 125$ and I heard they will work with these heads..

I'd run an X pipe to 2chamber flows ...

is this too much for an explorer motor setup with an F cam?

I am sure that some will say that oversizing the exhaust will cause a loss in the low end. I have yet to actually find proof of this, and if it is true I doubt it would be very noticeable. In school I was instructed that there is no real world disadvantage to running the larger exhaust (This comes from a Professor with several masters degrees and coutless years of experience in designing and building experimental vehicles.).

I was always told its not backpressure you are after... THE MOST COMMON misconception of what makes an exhaust succesful...

you want the best scavenging exhaust that will get your gases out QUICKLY..

the headers are 125$ new.. from a friend.. and I Think a well built X pipe and maybe spintechs would fit nicely..

any other opinions?
